F.E.A.R. Combat has been released! You can grab this free, standalone multiplayer game locally from AusGamers (we've also got a torrent). You'll also need a CD key to play - sign up over on the official site.

anyone else getting ratty performance from the torrent? I've got one seed and 18 peers connected, but not currently downloading anything... i've downloaded a grand total of 280Kb in an hour. :/

i'm using azureus, 2.4.0.2, via webUI. Meh, it's probably my home connection, i might just grab it from work... (heheheh)

I predict there will be a lot of people playing for the next week or so, but the numbers will dwindle pretty quickly. I played when it wasn't free and in my opinion there's just no substance.

There does seem to be a lack of substance, alot of guns reload really quickly and have very little recoil...seems they are trying to encourage spraying a bit.
Also, anyone noticed how when people attack with "Universal Attack" or the fists they look really really weird...
Might just be me.

I'm having trouble with the install saying I need 5 gig free space on C drive.
This has been a problem for me with Battlefeild 2 patches as well.
With Battlefield I modify this reg value: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ProgramFilesDir
to a different drive from "C",but this doesn't work for Fear Combat.

Has anyone had this problem and found a way round it.

Sorted now.
Got rid of a file that previously didn't want to delete that gave me 1 gig free on C drive.
This appears to be enough to allow the installer to get to a point were I could do the install to F drive.
I'm sure the original error message said it wanted 5000mb on C but it appears 1 gig is enough for the temp dump.

Gmail is the bomb, key was sent within 2seconds, instantly basically, my mate with Hotmail took him a while..

What is witht he post code stuff? I just put 2000 for Syd and that was it and it went through.

I'm very happy Vivendi have released the FEAR Multiplayer Component free the best move a company has done in a while to really get mass market...

I've finished FEAR in single player, and its just the best game.. physics. graphics. everything.

Oh and downloading at 1150k off Ausgamers is sweet... goo Cable :) it was finished in like 28minutes or so on my mates Optuscable

See i told you, the punch/kicking thing is extremely weird, half the time it seems you don't even need to aim them.
You just click rapidly and all the other person sees is a guy impersonating a retarded orangutan beating the crap out of them before they die.

This game got boring fast for me, gamers these days are more likely to pick up and play a game which has strong teamplay elements. FEAR seems to lack this, unless someone makes a good mod..
