Perhaps it's because they're too busy releasing trailer after trailer for their games, but publishers nowadays don't seem to crow about their games "going gold" as they used to.
Contrary to that trend, Ubisoft have today let us know that the hotly anticipated Splinter Cell Conviction has completed development and is off on its journey to mass-production.
Interestingly, the announcement is only for the Xbox 360 version of the game and makes several references to the game's "Xbox Exclusive" status, even though the release date for the PC version of the game is the same. I suppose it only matters that it's "not on PlayStation 3" - or perhaps its a veiled reference to the fact that nobody is going to be able to play it on PC with Ubi's failing always-on DRM system (Oh Snap!).
Splinter Cell Conviction is on track to hit Xbox 360 and PC on April 15th 2010.
