Ubisoft San Francisco's guitar and bass teaching video game Rocksmith 2014 will soon be stringing up for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, publisher Ubisoft announced today.

Both version will be weighing in at the 1080p mark, and will feature over 50 tracks with more than 300 additional songs available as DLC. There will also be additional new content each week, and console owners on previous gens can import their previous content purchases over to the new versions.

On PlayStation 4, Rocksmith 2014 will support Remote Play through the PlayStation Vita, allowing players to view songs at a locked mastery level without any scoring or input required; perfect for those looking to review a song in its entirety without feedback, study specific sections of songs or practice in another room when it’s more convenient.

The standard edition of Rocksmith 2014 includes a Rocksmith Real Tone Cable, which is a unique cable that turns your guitar’s signals from analog to digital, which allows it to be recognizable not only to your game console, but also to your PC and Mac.

Rocksmith 2014 will be available on November 6th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For our thoughts on the game you can check out our previous review of the PC version here.

Ubisoft made a small splash when it launched the original Rocksmith just as the old breed of rhythm games were being unceremoniously retired, but while the likes of Guitar Hero and Rock Band left only some fond memories and landfill-bound plastic instruments behind, Rocksmith actually left some people some actual musical ability.

Rocksmith 2014 Edition is now available for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, addressing many of the issues that players had with the original and adding a bunch of new features. Ubisoft pitch this new iteration as "the fastest way to learn guitar", find out if we agree in AusGamers Rocksmith 2014 Edition review.
