Warner Bros. Interactive has today revealed Zatanna as the newest DLC character for DC Comic based fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us. A new trailer has also been released, showing off the powerful magician known for casting spells by speaking backwards.
Developed by award-winning NetherRealm Studios, Injustice: Gods Among Us introduces a new franchise in the fighting game genre and a brand new story created in collaboration between NetherRealm Studios, DC Entertainment and comic book writers Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti. As the story unfolds, players will experience the power, gadgetry and unparalleled strength of some of the most popular DC Comics heroes and villains, such as Batman, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Aquaman, The Joker and others, as they engage in epic battles in a world where the line between good and evil is blurred.
Zatanna will mark the first DLC character released outside of the Season Pass, and will be available beginning August 14 on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 400 MS Microsoft Points and PlayStation Network at a price of $7.35, with no report on when the Wii U version will be gaining access to the powerful magician.

While PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users have been enjoying their DLC shenanigans in the DC Comic fighter Injustice: God Among Us, Wii U users have had to sit by the sidelines, waiting for the day they'll be able to play one of the new roster additions. Luckily, that wait is now over with a new patch making its way to the Nintendo console bringing all the past DLC with it.

Developer NetherRealm Studios has updated the game with a new patch, putting it at version 1.1.0, and existing DLC is now available for purchase in the eShop after almost two and half months since its launch. In early May the studio stated that the DLC would be making its way to the Wii U, however no date was set.

The DLC includes the four new additions to the roster: Lobo, Batgirl, Scorpion and General Zod, with each one costing $4.99. Currently the Season Pass - which offers a 25% discount over purchasing each character individually - is not listed on the eShop, and not known whether it will be showing up.

Costume DLC is also now available on the Wii U including the Joker's quite touching tropical vacation garb which was the outfit worn in the graphic novel. The costume packs range from $0.99 through to $3.99. Sadly no online lobby system has yet been added to the game, however hopefully it is still in the works for those craving the online multiplayer.

Interesting enough the version of Scorpion revealed is designed by Jim Lee, the Co-Publisher at DC Entertainment, and also pays homage to NetherRealm Studios’ previous Mortal Kombat vs DC fighter.

Those looking to try out Scorpion will find him available as of today on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 400 Microsoft Points and PlayStation Network at a price of AUD$7.35. No word yet on when exactly Wii U owners will be gaining previous DLC but NetherRealm has stated it is in the works.

NetherRealm Studios has revealed the first in-game footage of Batgirl, Injustice: Gods Among Us' next DLC character to join the DC Comics roster. The trailer reveals this Batgirl to be Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Commissioner Gordon who was paralyzed by Joker in the original DC Comics 'The Killing Joke' graphic novel.

Utilising the training from Batman and Robin, Batgirl shows off her moves against an aptly themed Joker dressed in his tropical vacation garb which was the outfit worn in the graphic novel. No date was sadly given on when Batgirl will be available but a price of 400 Microsoft Points and $7.35 for the PSN was offered. Presumably the Killing Joke costume pack will also be released alongside Batgirl, as was the case with the launch of Lobo.

For those wondering when the Wii U copy of Injustice: Gods Among Us would be gaining all these DLC packs, fear not as NetherRealm revealed through the game's official Twitter that we can expect "DLC for the Wii U version of Injustice: Gods Among Us to be available this summer. Stay tuned for more details."

Those eagerly awaiting the chance to play as Lobo in NetherRealm's Injustice: Gods Among Us fighter will be happy to know that the first add-on character is now available for purchase on both the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace (thanks Joystiq). Touted as a mighty mercenary and bounty hunter, Lobo is also known for his love of space-cycles and cigars.

Lobo is available for free to those who have purchased a Season Pass, however is also being sold separately for 400 MS Points or $5 on PSN. The space-cycle fanatic will be the first of four downloadable characters, with Batgirl following shortly after.

NetherRealm has also added three new packs alongside the release of Lobo, including the Teen Titans pack which offers alternate costumes on Cyborg, Raven and Deathstroke. For those looking for a bit of change to the usual look of Catwoman, Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn you can also grab the Bad Girls pack - both at 240 MS Points or $3 on PSN. The third pack is on offer for Season Pass holders, which changes costumes for Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Deathstroke to their alternative "Flashpoint" design for 320 MS Points or $4 for PSN.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have today announced the Australian launch of their latest DC-infused fighting title Injustice: Gods Among Us. Developed by NetherRealm studios, the title sees various DC Comic heroes and villaisn fighting it out in a large range of arenas including Arkham Asylum, Metropolis, Atlantis, and more.
Injustice: Gods Among Us features numerous locales pulled from DC Comics lore including Arkham Asylum, Metropolis, Atlantis, and more. The arenas are multi-tiered, destructible, interactive playgrounds in which players can unleash each character’s unique super powers, individual move-sets and environmental interactions to beat their opponents. Fans can also extend their experience by playing the S.T.A.R. Labs missions, which offer players a wealth of additional content and unique gameplay that are outside of the game’s story mode experience.

Bringing these characters to life is a cast of actors, including Stephen Amell, star of the Nine Network’s upcoming new action show, Arrow, who reprises his role as the Green Arrow in the game as an unlockable “Arrow” version of the character, which players can choose to use in-game. Also featured are Kevin Conroy, as Batman; Tara Strong, as Harley Quinn and Raven; Neal McDonough as The Flash; George Newbern as Superman; Adam Baldwin as Green Lantern; and Alan Tudyk as Green Arrow (regular version).
Oddly enough the launch only coincides with the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, with the Wii U having been delayed by a week to April 24 for unknown reasons. Check out the launch trailer below for a glimpse at what to expect.
