Halloween may have come and gone, and you may be in the middle of Battlefield jet skirmishes, Modern Warfare 3 Juggernaut matches or plain rocking in the corner counting the days and hours until The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim releases, but there's a lot going on elsewhere in the games industry.

inFamous 2, for example, has had its first significant release of DLC recently in the form of Festival of Blood. This is full campaign-based content that sees Cole taking on more than just his sparky abilities; growing fangs and an appetite to match are only part of his problem, he also has a time-limit to stave off any certain [un]death, and you're the only one who can help him.

The PlayStation 3-exclusive inFamous 2 has landed and promises an action-packed follow-up to the original title. Does it deliver? Grizz takes the game through its paces and his review has stacks of juicy information about the game:
A good sequel, much like an average DeLorean or a bad death row inmate, must be crackling with 1.21 gigawatts of awesome if we're going to be impressed by it. Developer Suckerpunch has understood that expected output, and has amped up their IP accordingly.
PS3 owners will want to know about this one, so make sure you read the review for our take.

As the game's title implies, InFamous 2 -- like the original InFamous -- allows the player to use their supernatural powers either for the greater good or for more nefarious purposes. Today's new trailer highlights this mechanism and gives us some more in-game looks at both sides of the coin. Here's the brief from the official PlayStation blog:
In inFamous 2, Cole will have new powers and will come across many crossroads. Ultimately it will be up to you to decide the path you want him to take.

Take a look at the below and watch out for how Cole’s look changes when he’s good and evil, get a sneak peek of a new faction he has to face, and a small taste of Cole’s new ice powers…

InFamous 2 is due in June 2011, exclusively for PlayStation 3.

The PlayStation Experience is happening right now in the UK; showcasing, among other things, Sony's big-hitters for 2011. Ahead of anything else though, we have a new trailer for InFamous 2, which is basically just a cinematic that doesn't really show anything except that the team at Sucker Punch have retained the original game's comic-book story-telling style.

We do, however, have a handful of new screens that show the game's impressive new visual palette, which you can check out here or by clicking the image below. As for the trailer, watch it embedded below, or click here for the HD option.

Following their demo of the game at the recent PAX Prime 2010 event in Seattle, Sony and Sucker Punch have now released some new media from the upcoming Infamous 2.

Today we have a new gameplay trailer, showing off three minutes of electrically-charged action as well as seven new stills.
Blamed for the destruction of Empire City and haunted by the ghosts of his past, reluctant hero Cole MacGrath makes a dramatic journey to the historic Southern city of New Marais in an effort to discover his full super-powered potential - and face a civilization-ending confrontation with a dark and terrifying enemy from his own future. Gifted with extraordinary god-like abilities, Cole alone has the power to save humanity, but the question is- will he choose to do so?
Infamous 2 is due in 2011 exclusive to PlayStation 3.

As if to show off the new visual lengths they've apparently gone to for InFamous 2, SuckerPunch's GamesCom trailer is a video fly through of the game in pause right at the point of impact for one of Cole's "death from above" drops, and I have to admit, this looks pretty special.

There's an insane amount of detail, along with numerous NPCs, debris, particles and more, all littering his destruction trail. Enemies fire wildly into the air while bolts of super-charged lightning illuminate the landscape in spectacular fashion. This is definitely a unique way to show off your tech and design, but a cool one.

Check it out below or download it right here.
