Ubisoft's long-in-production post-apocalyptic survival opus, I Am Alive, is coming to PC the publisher has revealed, and as early as next month.

September 13 is the date you should be prepping your bug-out bag for, and hopefully all your Doomsday Prepping will allow you to hole up in your shelter for the duration of the game's campaign.

New to the PC version is two modes: Easy and Replay, while the requisite visual additions (better resolution etc) also make it worth a look in. As for what to expect, you might want to check out our review to see if it's the sort of game you're looking for.

Watch a trailer detailing the PC version embedded below, or directly right here.

Ubisoft has revealed that their post-apocalyptic survival title, I Am Alive, released as a digital download, will be arriving for PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Network on April 4 and will come accompanied with an iOS companion app. The game has already been available on Xbox Live Arcade for a few weeks now, and has been met with mixed reviews, despite having been in development since 2008.
I Am Alive follows an everyman’s journey to find his wife and daughter, who were lost during the “Event.” A year later, he finds Haventon, his hometown, in shambles. Buildings are destroyed, toxic ash fills the streets and society has been torn, causing inhabitants to take all necessary actions to survive.

In I Am Alive, players will be challenged by both the environment and the enemies. Stamina and resource management are key when being exposed to deadly atmospheres and scaling enormous buildings in search of supplies. The unique combat system requires players to utilise intimidation - cowards are easily swayed with an empty gun, while other enemies will put players to the test.

Also available is a FREE iOS companion App, which features:
  • A ‘photo mode’ that let you create your own I Am Alive-themed photos
  • Original game soundtrack, including 6 tracks exclusively composed for the App
  • A Street map of the main game area with exclusive hints from the developers
  • List of all resources from the game detailing the level of rarity and effects on health, stamina and stamina capacity
  • List of all Achievements and Trophies with check/uncheck tracking feature
  • 5 videos including a trailer, a making and the 3 “survivor tapes”
  • Over 50 production concept arts, promotional artworks and screenshots.
You can actually grab the app now by clicking here. And be sure to check out our review of I Am Alive on Xbox Live Arcade right here.

It's been a rather long wait since we first heard about Ubisoft's I Am Alive, and although the full story has never been told, it's clear that the game has undergone some large transformations since its 2008 conception. Originally presented as a major title in their upcoming catalogue, Ubi has scaled ambitions back with the game now targeted at the Xbox Live and PlayStation Network platforms following completion at Ubisoft's Shanghai studio.

I Am Alive launched on the Australian Xbox Live Arcade this week (with the PS3 offering still promised shortly, but not dated) for the budget price of 1200 Microsoft Points (approx $20).

Nathan "Nachosjustice" Lawrence has put this one through its paces for us today and you can find out his thoughts in this AusGamers review.

The much talked-about post-apocalyptic survival actioner I Am Alive from Ubisoft finally has a light at the end of its long and storied development tunnel, with the publisher revealing the digital-only game will be arriving on Xbox Live Arcade, March 7, 2012, for 1200 Microsoft Points (around AU$20).

Originally revealed at E3 2008 as a project headed by Ubisoft's Jade Raymond, the game disappeared into the proverbial post-apocalyptic dust, rearing its head only through rumour and speculation until Ubisoft confirmed that the game was still very much alive, last year.

It's still apparently arriving on the PlayStation Network, but Ubisoft has yet to offer any solid release details for Sony's home console.

Ubisoft have sent along a new trailer for I Am Alive, the post apocalyptic urban survival title in the works at their Shanghai studio, that was recently reannounced as a scaled-down offering, now targeted at Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

This latest clip is in the form of an in-game cut-scene featuring the game's everyman protagonist sharing a general code of conduct for end of the world survival.

Ubisoft's heavily delayed but ever-intriguing I Am Alive, which it was revealed a little while ago would in fact be dropping as a digital download for the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade, will actually be arriving very soon (US Winter).

In honour of this triumphant crawl back from the brink, developer Ubisoft Shanghai has released a batch of new screens for the game, showing its many shades of... well, grey.

It is a disaster-based game though, so there's context to the hue regardless. For a better look at the new screens, click the thumbnails below, and stay tuned for more details on the game as they become available closer to its release.

Our friends over at GamePron, have pieced information together regarding I Am Alive, the survival title from Ubisoft and semi-Ubi celeb, Jade Raymond, which they point out is still due to release in 2011, but as a digital download for the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade (no whisper of PC).

They also add that Ubisoft apparently doesn't "have much faith" in the game, which could be attributed to its many delays and an internal development shift that saw it taken out of Ubisoft Montreal over to Ubisoft Shanghai. The Pronners think this might be a smart move in giving the game some development woe mythos; leading toward a cultish following. Either way, it looks like all that E3 2009 pre-rendered video hype was just that.

More when we have it.
