Indie sci-fi shooter, Hard Reset, which we awarded a respectable 7.5/10 too in the review department, looks to be heading to retail shelves come March next year in a recently revealed extended edition.

Hard Reset: Extended Edition gives gamers the core game with a host of improvements, as well as post-release content in the way of multiplayer maps, weapons, enemies and more, making it a far more robust retail release.

We've contacted the O/S team to suss out the local details in terms of distributors and publishers, as well as local release dates, so stay tuned for more details as they come through.

As a community born out of old school PC first person shooters, at AusGamers we're always keen to see developers throwing back to the fast-paces games of the FPS golden-era. As we wait for Serious Sam 3, another European indie developer have sprung up from nowhere, announcing and launching a new game with only a couple of months warning.

Flying Wild Hog is a new studio from Poland, formed by veterans of CD Projekt RED (The Witcher) and People Can Fly (Painkiller, Bulletstorm) and their debut title is an old school, currently PC-exclusive shooter named Hard Reset.

Get the complete low-down as Kosta puts the games through its fast-paces for us in this AusGamers review.

Hard Reset launches today, September 13th 2011 for PC and can be found on Steam at a budget price point.

A playable demo can also be found here on AusGamers (1GB).

Flying Wild Hog have released a playable demo for Hard Reset, their recently announced and soon to launch PC first person shooter.
Hard Reset is an action-packed, single-player shooter for the PC. With over-the-top destruction, loads of enemies, great weapon variety and a beautifully realised cyberpunk setting, Hard Reset is sure to shake up the shooter scene.
For the uninitiated, Flying Wild Hog are a new Polish indie studio formed by veterans of the likes of CD Projekt RED (The Witcher) and People Can Fly (Painkiller, Bulletstorm) and Hard Reset plays very much like a sci-fi Painkiller.

But don't just take my word for it. Grab the demo locally from AusGamers (1GB) and see for yourself.

Hard Reset is due on PC on September 13th 2011.

So, I just went and pre-purchased Hard Reset on Steam, which is enjoying a current 10% price reduction (from USD$29.99) in celebration of the recently announced September 13 release date, for a game we really only knew existed just a few months ago.

Don't know much about Hard Reset?
In the only remaining human city of Bezoar, Major Fletcher, an Army Combat Veteran and soldier of the CLN, is dragged into a conflict between two of mankind's greatest enemies. He is to discover that nothing is what it seems to be.

Hard Reset is an action-packed, single-player shooter for the PC. With over-the-top destruction, loads of enemies, great weapon variety and a beautifully realized cyberpunk setting, Hard Reset is sure to shake up the shooter scene.
It really does look pretty though, as the screens below will attest to, but we also have three videos you can check out locally, and if none of that sells you, the indie team behind it is built from ex-members of the likes of CD Projekt, People Can Fly and City Interactive.

Flying Wild Hogs -- a new Poland-based independent studio comprised of developers from People Can Fly (Painkiller, Bulletstorm), CD Project RED (The Witcher) and City Interactive (Sniper: Ghost Warrior) -- have announced their debut title, a "dark sci-fi" themed first person shooter titled Hard Reset.
The PC-exclusive title transports players to a haunting, dystopian future, with humanity on the verge of extinction, confined to its last standing city and under constant threat from the robotic hordes that aim to annihilate mankind.
Not only is the game currently PC exclusive and reportedly built on their own in-house engine technology, but it's also due to ship very shortly, in "September 2011".

A teaser trailer (embedded below or here for HD) and three screenshots accompany the announcement and you can find some more details in the official press release as well as this exclusive Q&A over at PC Gamer.
