It's no secret that to many, Dragon Age: Inquisition was indeed the Game of the Year for 2014. And by now we all know how Game of the Year editions for games work, especially in the modern climate of DLC content. So yeah, this re-release of Dragon Age: Inquisition will come with all the DLC content released so far, including the recent 'Trespasser' which is said to bridge the gap between Inquisition and the next Dragon Age game proper.

In addition to all the story-driven DLC content the Game of the Year edition will also come packaged with all the special equipment and bonuses that were made available with pre-orders and deluxe editions.

"We won how many Game of Year awards?"

Dragon Age: Inquisition – Game of the Year Edition releases on October 6, 2015, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

And it's free for all platforms starting tomorrow. Like a bird in the sky, or a piece of gaming content for an existing game you own without any additional associated cost. Anyway, what exactly is this new content? Well it's called Dragonslayer, so that should give you a clue -- multiplayer dragon hunting!

Alongside the aforementioned dragon hunting and killing, this new multiplayer content will also include three new heroes to play with, a new location to explore and loot (Ferelden Castle), and perhaps a tube or two of Dragon Salve 5000. Because nine out of ten Inquisition magicians agree, when it comes to dragon burns nothing stops the fire like Dragon Salve 5000.

Called Jaws of Hakkon, the first story-driven DLC expansion for Dragon Age: Inquisition is out today for Xbox and Windows PC. Promising new story content and a new area to explore, players will get to "discover the fate of the last Inquisitor and the powerful dragon he hunted."

As for the price, Jaws of Hakkon is available via the Xbox Marketplace for $19.95 and strangely $24.99 via EA's Origin service. As for the amount of content in this expansion, that remains unclear but judging by the launch trailer below, Jaws of Hakkon is very much Dragon Age. And there's nothing wrong with that. No word yet on when this content is expected to hit the PS4.

A new patch for Dragon Age: Inquisition has been announced and does that thing that patches do, like fixing an audio glitch where music starts playing when it isn't supposed to. Plus a whole bunch of way more exciting things.

BioWare has released the patch notes on what they are dubbing "Patch 5" for Dragon Age: Inquisition. Like the dragons of old (which are featured prominently in the game) legend says that Patch 5 will trump Patch 4 in its patchy ambition. From "Fixed the save game card image for elf mages" to "Fixed a conversation where Leliana references being with the Warden" this new Patch will bring the award winning RPG one step closer to being free from any nitpicking at all. But of course the patch will also bring new features to the game like the aforementioned party storage. No release date has been set for the new patch but it is expected to roll out across both PC and console.

Here are the full patch notes:
  • Fixed an issue that allowed characters to take damage while using the Counterstrike ability.
  • Updated abilities to function correctly with front armor rating.
  • Fixed the Charging Bull ability so that AI-controlled characters no longer overshoot their target.
  • Removed the initial barrier that spellbinders receive when spawned.
  • Added an option to control the font size of subtitles.
  • Improved archer AI so that they choose to enter melee combat less often.
  • Fixed the save game card image for elf mages.
  • Fixed an issue that caused certain operations to disappear from the war table without direct player interaction.
  • Fixed a crash after use of a Tactician’s Renewal amulet in Skyhold.
  • Fixed a conversation where Leliana references being with the Warden to face the Archdemon when she was set to have died in the imported Dragon Age Keep world state.
  • Fixed a case where movement audio was muted after a level transition.
  • Fixed a case where music unintentionally played after a level transition.
  • Fixed a loot exploit.
  • Fixed a case where the Quarry Quandry quest could be prevented from being completed.
  • Added party storage to the Undercroft in Skyhold.
  • Improved stability.
  • Fixed the True Grit perk to apply to all party members.
  • Fixed the issue where Qunari Inquisitors were able to equip the Inquisition Battlemage armor.
  • Fixed an exploit where certain abilities could be used multiple times before the cooldown was started.
  • Fixed an exploit with Explosive Shot where indirect hits were not causing the ability to cool down and reduce stamina.
  • Fixed cases of the new-item icon appearing on old items after salvaging in multiplayer.

Dragon Age: Inquisition’s multiplayer just got a little more dangerous. BioWare and EA have released a free update to the game that adds new paths to the existing multiplayer locations.

In addition to the new winding ways through the scenery, the "Destruction" update introduces wildlife that will attack hero and monster alike. You can start exploring the new paths now.

Skyrim's boots are big, knee-damaged ones to to fill, but BioWare has come to the party with a game that works, and works very hard. Our review tells you why.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is an epic experience that haunts you between play sessions, enticing you to come back for more. It may not hit the lofty heights of Skyrim, but it comes bloody close..
Nathan "nachosjustice" Lawrence took the game for the review spin for us, and did not walk away disappointed.

BioWare's third RPG in the Dragon Age series is nearly upon us, and the developer has decided to start rolling out official trailers of the game's companions ahead of the November 20th release.

The first of these official trailers introduces Vivienne, a badass female mage who, in typical Dragon Age character fashion, sees a giant whirling green tornado not as an act of horror but instead as a way to deal a devastating blow to her enemies. In other words, don't mess with her or else you'll feel her wrath it seems.

Alongside the trailer release AllGamesBeta has caught wind of some new PC screenshots, which you can check out below. In short, some of the environments are definitely of the delicious variety, while some others fall a bit short in showing off some glaring character modelling issues. An example would be the Quanari shot, who seems to be suffering some body proportion issues with his head smaller than his pecks. Check it out below.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be due out on November 20th for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

At a preview session in Melbourne last week AusGamers had the opportunity to ask Mike Laidlaw, the Creative Director for Dragon Age: Inquisition, about the presence of Blood Magic in BioWare's upcoming game. He told us no, and went on to explain why.

"So we aren't actually doing Blood Magic in Inquisition as a specialisation, in part because I made myself a promise -- if we went back to Blood Magic we would do it up real good,” he said. “I felt like we were undercutting its significance, because in the Dragon Age world it is the ultimate temptation. I think think that to do it right it almost needs to be the Malkavian option from Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. And it's something we need to explore, but in a game where we were also exploring open world and five platforms and multiplayer it seemed like perhaps we had enough irons in the fire.

At some point I'll go back to it huge, because it's an absolutely fascinating part of the world that I want to do more with. If you read Dragon Age: Last Flight though, you get to see Blood Magic as it's supposed to be. It's gruesome and horrible, yet highly effective.

I guess it's disappointing to some people because they kinda dig it, but again, there's the Blood Magic you imagine it could be, and looking at what we had I don't think we were going to deliver that. So I said ok, let's get some other specs down, one of the biggies for me for mage is getting back to the combat mage, which is Knight Enchanter. They're frankly almost the cleric of the DA world because they have very good protective spells and inspirational buffs and stuff, so they're very good front line fighters too. They can be right up there swinging, like the Arcane Warrior kind of fantasy. I decided we would get some of those in that don't have this massive story overhead like Blood Magic does."

Publisher Electronic Arts has today announced that BioWare's Dragon Age: Inquisition will be offered to EA Access subscribers as early as November 15th, five days before its public release on November 20th.

Like past early access titles, EA will be limiting players to just six hours of playtime during that five-day window. The six-hour trial lets you create your hero, form your Inquisition, and take your first steps into Thedas, exploring the world and battling evil in both real-time and tactical combat. The game's co-op multiplayer missions will also be available for players to check out, and progress will be carried over to the full version.

Currently EA Access is limited exclusively to the Xbox One, and tailed at $4.99 a month of $29.99 a year for the service. Since its announcement the catalog has expanded to include Need for Speed Rivals, Peggle 2 and of course various limited-trials to EA-published games. Members also receive 10% off EA games and add-on content through the Xbox Games Store.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be launching on November 20th for us non-EA Access members, available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Additionally, there's also a new official trailer. Titled The Hero of Thedas, the latest clip is full of shiny shields and armour, angry dragons, and colourful spells. Watch both below.

BioWare has offered up a very brief post on their official Twitter clearing up previous rumours of graphical parity for the upcoming RPG Dragon Age: Inquisition, noting that the PlayStation 4 version will be running at 1080p while the Xbox One version will be 900p.

With Ubisoft having recently been in the news thanks to their graphical "parity" clarification on Assassin's Creed: Unity, news that Dragon Age: Inquisition will be utilising the maximum "potential of each platform" will certainly poke those graphical debates even more.
Yesterday, BioWare held a livestream of Dragon Age: Inquisition yesterday on Twitch.tv, where they detailed various parts of the game—notably its character customization and combat. Following that, a website called 1080players put out a report stating that the game would be running at 900p/30fps on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

In related news, those looking to jump on the PC version of DA:I will be happy to hear that BioWare has released the official spec requirements, as seen below:
    Recommended:
    OS: Windows 7 or 8.1 64-bit
CPU: AMD six core CPU @ 3.2 GHz, Intel quad core CPU @ 3.0 GHz
    System RAM: 8 GB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7870 or R9 270, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
    Graphics Memory: 2 GB
    Hard Drive: 26 GB
    DirectX 11

Or, if you're playing on a slightly older setup, here are the minimum system requirements:

    Minimum:
    OS: Windows 7 or 8.1 64-bit
CPU: AMD quad core CPU @ 2.5 GHz, Intel quad core CPU @ 2.0 GHz
    System RAM: 4 GB
Graphics CARD: AMD Radeon HD 4870, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
    Graphics Memory: 512 MB
    Hard Drive: 26 GB
    DirectX 10
Dragon Age: Inquisition is set for release on November 21st in Europe for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.

AusGamers had the chance to sit in on a roundtable discussion with Dragon Age: Inquisition's producer Cameron Lee (who many should recognise from our previous encounters with the ex-pat) and friends Gameplanet to chat all things crafting for BioWare's upcoming RPG.

With the trailer this morning giving a great look at the general overview of crafting and customising your hero, Lee was able to delve further into a number of aspects we can expect in DA: Inquisition. These include hundreds of various weapons and armour, what masterwork materials are and even customisable grenades for different exploding effects.

That and more can be found in the full interview, and as always stay tuned for more on Dragon Age: Inquisition as we count down the days until release.

Probably one of the best features in today's RPG genre is the ability to create the perfect hero for your playthrough thanks to ever-advancing character creation tools, which allow you to twiddle with all the sliders and checkboxes until you've got a hero just right for adventuring.

Playing on that BioWare has released this short video highlighting the detail and depth of options available for making characters in Dragon Age: Inquisition. As well as the usual skin tones, eye-color and facial hair choices, players can mess around with earlobes, nostrils, Adam's apple and more.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be launching November 18th for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.

After offering a small amount of details yesterday in regards to the rumoured 4 player cooperative multiplayer mode coming to BioWare's Dragon Age: Inquisition, the developer has now revealed a full-fledge gameplay video demonstrating exactly that in action.

Being kept largely from the single-player experience, the multiplayer co-op will offer its own various encounters between you and three of your friends. Customisation is also a key part of the mode, allowing you to create unique armour, weapons and level your character up. In regards to characters, you'll have 12 to choose from with a range of abilities, all of which can be modified through a talent-like system.

Check it out in action below, and let us know your thoughts on this new addition to the previously predominate single-player franchise. Dragon Age: Inquisition will be launching November 18th for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Wanting to know more about Dragon Age: Inquisition? Why not check out our recent hands-on preview of the game at this year's Gamescom, or better yet read up on all the goss in our interview with BioWare Aussie ex-pat Cameron Lee.

Continuing our rolling coverage of this years Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, AusGamers had the chance to test out the newest title in the Dragon Age series from prestige developer BioWare, Inquisition (be careful you don't say that too loudly for fear of red dressed men barging through doors).

To take up the arms - literally - we tasked Nathan "NachosJustice" Lawrence to find out all things Inquisition-y on from his hands-on preview, and it seems his faith in the series after the questionable Dragon Age II may have just been restored.

BioWare has shared a generous amount of details and footage from the single-player campaign of the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition, but had been quiet on the rumoured 4 player cooperative multiplayer mode.

IGN recently had a chance to go hands on with the co-op, and in addition to a full write-up on the experience -- which they explain is kept largely separate from the single-player experience -- they also have a video feature where a couple of the site's editors discuss what they know, over the top of some of the mode's first video footage.
Single-player is aiming for a smart marriage of narrative and gameplay systems. Multiplayer is pure, meant to attract role-playing junkies with a passion for loot, combat, and team-based battles in the gorgeous, brutal world of Dragon Age. After completing a multiplayer quest, you’ll take home your found gold to spend on treasure chests, which include items such as item recipes, new equipment, potions, grenades, and salves of varying rarity. Some may even unlock a new hero or character skin. Nine heroes join Dragon Age: Inquisition’s multiplayer roster at launch -- three for each mage/melee/archer class, each unique in their appearance, abilities, and characterization.
The article elaborates on the item unlock feature with a microtransaction element, but is quick to point out that such purchases are an "optional time saver" currency, and that "Nothing is behind a paywall", comparing the business model to that of the popular League of Legends.

Watch the video below. Dragon Age: Inquisition is scheduled for launch on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on November 21st 2014.

Friend of the site, Cameron Lee, might as well write for us permanently. He's appeared in numerous interviews with us over the past two years and remains one of the best voices for getting information regarding BioWare's next major project -- Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Speaking with Nathan Lawrence from the Gamescom showfloor, the Aussie ex-pat talks at length about the game's tone and mood, about how an inquisition isn't actually a bad thing, and about how there are no Lightsabers in their new, massive open-world action-RPG.
