Though we'd wager that a Dead Space 3 remake would basically be a brand-new game. Dead Space 2 on the other hand, after what Motive pulled off with the Dead Space remake, yes, please. Pretty please, with sugar on top. But, as per the headline EA might only be 'considering' the idea as it's asking players via a survey if they'd be interested in more Dead Space.

With the survey questions being standard survey stuff asking people to rate their interest in the idea of a Dead Space 2 remake in the style of the recent Dead Space. As spotted on Twitter.

If you're the recipient of such a survey be sure to tick the "Extremely Interested" box for Dead Space 2. We're not sure if choosing "Very interested" over "Extremely interested" might sour EA on the idea of more Dead Space, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

EA Motive is currently working on a single-player Iron Man game in collaboration with Marvel, but the team responsible for the Dead Space remake has stated that it is open to the idea of making more. Plus, they're huge fans of the franchise - so here's hoping they get the chance.

Dead Space 2, one of our highest rated games from last year, is now on sale at Green Man Games for the spectacular price of £4.99 (about $7.34 at the time of writing). From our review:
It’s the attention to detail that carries everything so seamlessly throughout, and if it’s not in your face, it’s in your periphery, or in your rear-speakers. From the incredibly functional city and its believable components and “lived-in” feel, to the creepy sounds off in the distance; that single spanner dropping from up on high to create a disturbing and disrupting echo, Dead Space 2 will unnerve you, it will scare you and it will grab you, by the throat, or your legs as you scurry to get away, and devour you. Whole.
If you're looking for a fright, pick it up now.

Could there be a slow trend happening towards free downloadable content? All the fuss surrounding Valve's stance on the subject and their promised support of Portal 2, across all platforms, for free add-ons certainly adds weight to the trend, and now EA have thrown their hat in the ring, with two new maps coming for the multiplayer portion of Dead Space 2, free.

According to the game's Facebook page, the team at Visceral plan on dropping the "Outbreak Map Pack" which features two maps: "The Academy" and "The Concourse" both located on the Sprawl on May 31st for Xbox 360 and June 3rd for the PlayStation 3.

Pay attention devs and pubs, we want to see more of this.

PS3 owners aren't the only ones getting the attention today as we have another competition for AusGamers readers this afternoon, this time for PC. Electronic Arts have sent along five copies of the also widely acclaimed Dead Space 2 (AusGamers 9.7/10) for us to giveaway.
"In Dead Space 2 gamers take on the identity of Engineer Isaac Clarke as they battle a terrifying Necromorph alien infestation in "The Sprawl", a new massive city consumed by extraterrestrial parasites. Players must do whatever it takes to survive the city and its new inhabitants by dismembering each of the infested standing in their way. In their arsenal of defenses players can create devastating explosions, turn limbs into deadly weapons of destruction, set off trip mines, and unleash the power of telekinesis against their enemies. Players can also spread the outbreak online for the first time, destroying friends and unlocking new weapons as a human, or a Necromorph in an all-new multiplayer mode."
We know how much you love those 25 words or less compeitions (thank state lottery laws for it being the easiest way for us to run comps) so this time we want you to answer: "What would be the scariest thing to find in a derelict space station?".

The five best answers will receive a boxed copy of Dead Space 2 for Windows PC. Additionally the top four answers will also receive one of these little replica models of the game's "Plasma Cutter" Weapon that have been autographed by Visceral Games Producer Shereif Fattouh. (sorry fifth winner, we only have four of these).

It's been a long wait, but Isaac Clarke is back, and he's more in over his head than he ever was on the USG Ishimura.

Dead Space 2 continues the plight of the hapless engineer who was the sole survivor of an outbreak of reanimated corpses called Necromorphs aboard a planet-cracker starship in Dead Space, a run-away critical success for Visceral Games (then known as EA Redwood Shores). And now the team are back with a game that can only be described as "bigger and better" in every possible way - no mean feat considering we scored the first title a 9.5 here on AusGamers.

So what's so good? Read our full review to find out.

EA have sent along a new trailer for Dead Space 2 today, this time showing off the game's multiplayer mode and the team-based gameplay that puts one side in the disfigured mutant bodies of the necromorphs.

The video, narrated by Visceral's Scott Probst features a walkthrough of multiplayer gameplay action, describing the various classes of the necromorph team, ranging from the "creepy baby" pack to the nasty freak-lady spitters.

Check it out below, or click here for the HD option.

Dead Space 2 is due next week on January 27 2011 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

It's only a few weeks off, and we've been slogging it out in our review version (embargoed, so stay tuned), and today EA have released their launch trailer for Visceral Games' forthcoming action/horror sequel, Dead Space 2.

In keeping with the modern launch hyperbole of gaming, this trailer is set to a music track (an oldie, but a goodie), and doesn't give too much away, but does surprisingly reveal how much more human the main characters Isaac is, with full voicing and total view of his face.

Dead Space 2 is due to release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 this January 26. Watch the trailer embedded below, or watch it in HD right here.

EA and Visceral continue their media roll-out for Dead Space 2, as its release date closes in like so many necromorphs on a ship engineer. Today's trailer gives us a bit more of a glimpse at the "Sprawl" the space-station 'city' in which the game takes place, featuring plenty of zero-g, lots of falling and run-away trains (you can have trains in space, too).

There's also a nice reminder at the end, that the game will be releasing in demo form for the Xbox 360 and PS3 from December 21st (sorry, no PC demo), which should be a nice Xmas teaser for the game before it officially arrives on January 25, 2011.

Watch it right here on AusGamers, and if you like it, feel free to Facebook 'Like' it.

EA and Visceral Games will be stuffing something awesome in your virtual stocking this year - a Dead Space 2 demo for PS3 and Xbox 360, just in time for Xmas.

According to VG247, producer Steve Papoutsis revealed to them in an interview that a demo for the game would arrive on December 21 in the US and December 22 in EU (no word on AU, but it'd be safe to say it's around then, too).

"Releasing the demo five weeks before launch will not only re-connect players with our hero Isaac Clarke, but will also give them the opportunity to experience firsthand various jaw-dropping scenarios," he told the site. "It’s gonna be awesome.”

Dead Space 2 is due to arrive on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 January 25, 2011.

Isaac's is getting a little more attention for the sequel, including a voice actor. Art Director Ian Milham talks us through the character's evolution and describes what we can expect come January. The Dead Space 2 roll out is clearly ramping up as we close in on the game's January 2011 release. Today with a trailer showing off more of the game's new environments, the devastation left by the necromorphs and plenty of the scary, scary Visceral Games are going to be delivering in the hotly anticipated sequel.

In Dead Space 2 Isaac Clarke is once again back to fight the necromorph threat while investigating the eerie "Church of Unitology" and their hand in all the craziness that has happened. The game will also feature a full voiced Clarke, shifting the dynamic of the first game.

It's not far away now, and in keeping with the game's creepy theme, Visceral have released a short trailer for Dead Space 2, in celebration of Halloween, showing off a thinner Isaac Clarke, doing what he does best - cutting things (or in this case, a thing).

For anyone who looks at this and has no idea what the shape is, it's the symbol for the Church of Unitology that features very heavily in Dead Space 2. Basically, take Scientology and put it in space with necromorphs instead of Tom Cruise (though, arguably Tom Cruise could be considered scarier).

Dead Space 2 is due to hit PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 January 25, 2011.

Details on the Limited Collector's Edition of Dead Space 2 have surfaced, and include, among much awesomeness, a replica Plasma Cutter.

PS3 owners will get added to their CE a copy of the Move-capable Dead Space Extraction, which was formerly released for Wii. PC and Xbox 360 owners won't get Extraction, but the rest of the CE will include a copy of the game, a limited lithograph print of a necromorph transformation, a soundtrack CD along with a featurette "Scoring of Dead Space 2", a redeemable code for the Unitology Suit and Force Gun (exclusive to the Collector's Edition) and the Plasma Cutter replica, which features a functional trigger that activates LED lights.

No details on local pre-order deals or pricing yet, but this looks like a pretty sweet deal. Click here for a better look at the CE pack.

EA have let loose a major announcement for Dead Space 2 in the form of a trailer revealing the game will support co-operative four-player multiplayer. That's right, you're now going to be dismembering in groups.

Not an immense amount of detail can be pulled from this, leaving more questions than answers. Questions such as will their be competitive play? Is it just Horde mode? Will we see a full side campaign? And finally, can we turn Friendly Fire on to dismember each other? Either way, it's definitely looking very, very cool. We'll also hopefully see more of this later in the week at our EA TGS press event, so stay tuned.

A new trailer for Dead Space 2 has surfaced, showing Isaac doing a pretty sweet long-distance HALO jump. It only runs for a few seconds but gives a glimpse as to the impressive scale on which the game is set - deploying from a spacecraft miles above the surface and then zooming down to it at a zillion miles an hour dodging debris, the ending up swishing through skyscrapers of the city. Check it out below or download the high resolution version for the full experience.

I'm slightly biased in my love of this franchise, but if anyone had doubts the Dead Space team could deliver a sequel without the original Visceral cats (who went off to make Sledgehammer Games), today's trailer should crush them.

When talking about ZOMG moments in games in the future, methinks this might be one of them. It looks absolutely stunning, and you can't half tell that while the original game certainly pushed you through the dark corridor survival horror experience, Dead Space 2 will definitely be opening up your area of contact, be it through planet-side cities or the vastness of space - this is going to be one to be remembered.

As we clamour down our mammoth list of E3 games we saw, we've put a few of the major stand-outs at pole-position. Today we have the stunning Dead Space 2, which took a stack of awards at the show, as well as basically every nomination known to E3 (and man), but with good reason.

The game kicks off as a true sequel to Dead Space, and we're once again in the Engineering Rig of Isaac Clarke. There's a lot of familiarity, but also plenty of new stuff, which we've put together for you here today. The game was an absolute stand-out, and my personal pick of the floor.

EA have announced the release date for the sequel to their creepy space-based shooter, Dead Space 2 - January 25th in North America and 28th in Europe. Presumably the Australian date will be around then somewhere.
In Dead Space 2, engineer Isaac Clarke makes his return in a blood-curdling new adventure on an all-new space installation known as The Sprawl. The lone survivor of a horrific alien infestation, Isaac finds himself confronting a catastrophic new nightmare. Battling dementia, Isaac will do whatever it takes to save himself and dominate the relentless enemy onslaughts. Equipped with a new arsenal of tools to dismember the necromorphs, Isaac faces the challenge head-on. Players will see Isaac fight bigger, scarier and more epic battles that will keep them on the edge of their seats.
Four new screenshots, hot from E3, accompany the release, which you can see in our screenshots page.

The Dead Space 2 media run has begun with a sprint, with EA capping things off last week at a pre-E3 showing (we weren't there unfortunately) prior to the main event itself. We have an all-new video available here and you can check out a batch of new screens showing off the game's even more impressive visuals, as well what look to be new Rigs for Isaac as well as some familiar distorted, gory faces.

Dead Space 2 is currently due for a Q1 2011 release, though it's suggested we'll be back cutting through Necromorph limbs early January. Check out the new screens right here as well as some samples below.
