Don't believe us? Here's the Subject line that accompanied the game's release, press release: "Bayonetta here – enjoy my climax action anytime, anywhere, on Nintendo Switch".

This came from Nintendo.

*Blushes*

That said, we do remember that Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 are both just one big piece of fan-service wrapped up in fantastic action spectacles. But it's just kind of weird to hear (or read) Nintendo talking like that. It's sort of like hearing your grandparents reminiscing about that one time they decided to go swinging. And we don't mean swing dancing.

Ahem.

At any rate, here's the official press release reminding us that today Bayonetta 2 from Platinum Games is available on Nintendo's new platform and also features a code to grab the first Bayonetta. Alongside a Switch release trailer:
Hello there, my Dear,

This bad-ass witch is back, and better than ever, today!

Don't be shy, take a peek at me in my trailer below (there'll be plenty of time for pillow talk after..)
Anyway, we'll stop sharing now. Bayonetta 2 -- available now on Nintendo Switch.

Platinum Games' port of the original Bayonetta for Wii U allows players to dress up the eponymous witch as classic Nintendo characters like The Legend of Zelda's Link, Peach from Super Mario Bros. and Metroid's Samus. Those costumes will also be available as unlockables in the sequel, Bayonetta 2, Platinum Games announced today.

The Nintendo-themed costume changes for Bayonetta also alter certain visuals and sounds. When dressed as Peach or Daisy, for example, certain special moves will summon the arms and feet of Bowser. As Samus, Bayonetta can transform into a rolling morph ball. And when fighting in a Link costume, the game's currency — normally halos — becomes rupees. The developer is expanding Bayonetta's Nintendo-inspired wardrobe with another costume based on Star Fox's Fox McCloud, Platinum revealed today.

Bayonetta 2 will also introduce a new playable character: Rodin, the game's shopkeeper, and will be available exclusively to the online cooperative mode Tag Climax. Bayonetta 2 will be launching sometime in October for Wii U.
