During Ubisoft's third-quarter earnings call, CEO Yves Guillemot has confirmed that the next instalment in the successful Assassin's Creed franchise will be coming in the company's 2014 fiscal year.

Ubisoft's fiscal year runs from April 1 2013 through March 31st 2014, so it's possible we'll see a holiday season launch like the last few.

Guillimot's comments also indicate we won't be continuing on with the Native American Connor, but rather a whole new hero in what we presume will be a full Assassin's Creed 4, as opposed to the faffing around with Ezio and subtitles we saw with the Creed 2 saga (via Polygon):
"We are delighted and proud to announce today that in financial year '14, we will introduce an all-new Assassin's Creed hero, within an all new team and time period, and we expect it to be another major leap forward for the franchise," said Guillemot. "It is the benefit of multiple teams working on multiple chapters of the product, each getting several years to make their versions of an Assassin's Creed game."

Guillemot added Ubisoft will share more details on the next Assassin's Creed title "very soon."
There's no indication of platforms, but given Ubi's tendency to get behind new console launches, we'd be surprised if it appeared on any less than the full gamut of PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, as well as Microsoft and Sony's next generation devices.

Yesterday we saw rumours of what seemed to be an all-in-one collection of Assassin's Creed games, including the recently released Assassin's Creed 3. Ubisoft has now officially confirmed that there is indeed a Assassin's Creed Anthology pack, which will be available for Christmas for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, however no mention of a PC package.
Assassin’s Creed Anthology is a prestige collector’s edition which includes all expansion packs and downloadable content for the Assassin’s Creed games, including the Season Pass for Assassin’s Creed III, which provides full access to all forthcoming downloadable content, the first of which will be available mid-December. The Anthology Edition also includes five exclusive lithographs, an exclusive steel book and a collector’s box.
The box will include Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed 2, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood - The Da Vinci Edition, Assassin's Creed: Revelations - The Ottoman Edition and Assassin's Creed 3. Each game will include all released DLC and will also include the season pass for Assassin's Creed 3.

Assassin's Creed Anthology will be available for Christmas, with no set date having been revealed.

Also included in the bundle is every DLC for each title, including every multiplayer map pack and presumably the Assassin's Creed 3 Season Pass, however that hasn't been confirmed yet. Ahead of next weeks annual San Diego Comic-Con event, Ubisoft have revealed that a mini-series of new Assassin's Creed tales are soon to be told in graphic novel form.
Developed by Eisner Award nominees and Shuster Award-winning illustrators Cameron Stewart (Batman & Robin, Seaguy and Catwoman) and Karl Kerschl (Superman and The Flash), the Assassin’s Creed comic mini-series will be unveiled during a panel to be held on July 22, 2010 at Comic-Con International: San Diego.
The teaser trailer that you can watch here on AusGamers, suggests that this won't be a return to Altiair or Ezio, but a new character in the Assassin's lineage, that appears to hale from Russia and perhaps have some involvement in the mysterious happenings at Lake Baikal in Siberia.

No other information is available at this stage, only that it's due for release this Autumn (U.S. Spring 2010).
