I've never even heard about it before but I went go check my email this morning and teh Googles told me I had it, and 3 people were following me already.

Looks to be a Twitter clone I spose, just for people on your email list (that have Gmail accounts.)

If you havent checked your email today, check it out. I doubt i'll be using it much, I dont use Twitter and cant see my typing much about my mundane life to the people in my address book that generally already know about my mundane life.

if you google google buzz there's a scrolling updated list of the latest posts about it in google search at the bottom.

Haven't seen that before in search

I dont use any social networking things my headspace or tweeter or whatever but just from what you've descibed it sounds like twitter would be better then this google buzz for the simple fact you dont need a gmail account to post on it?

google needs to market how good their web email client is, along with the fact that you can push hotmail or yahoo or live through it. a lot of people don't know why gmail is so good; they need to be informed.

google's world domination i wish would come sooner. but it will only work when you have the clueless idiots using gmail; their whole concept is built around integrating with email.

Awesome bonus: the people I added to Buzz (followed, whatever) got automatically added to my reader - I didn't even think about following that, was good.

If you didn't notice, even without online social networking, everyone did this anyway. You head over to your mates and they complain about how they were stuck in a line at the post office for an hour. You head over to your mothers and she complains how your father hasn't cleaned the gutters. You head over to your girlfriends and she'll complain about her friends boyfriends brother is a giant douche.

ITS ALL THE SAME

twitter is bloody awesome for getting late breaking news through unfiltered sources. it was abuzz (excuse the pun) when the abbott/turnbull challenge was on.

but yeah, don't post on there what you had for breakfast or if you're taking a dump. just stick to news-type stuff that people may follow you for.

this buzz feature is just more of a bandwagon thingy. i can't see it being of any practical use.

Just tried it, and it was awesome until I discovered that if you have Google Profile setup before enable Buzz it will make ALL of your Public Buzz posts publically viewable AND it'll also show people that you are following and who are following you:

To remove Google Profile:

http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=98083

Their lame explanations on “Why you need Google Profile” to use Buzz is:

http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?answer=170732&hl=en_GB

i.e. no explanations….. it’s because we can..

Also:
http://news.cnet.com/8301-31322_3-10451428-256.html

The link they refer to is a tiny link at the bottom right hand corner of the screen - very sneaky. I just deleted my Google Profile so now all my share items in Google reader won't appear here or in public area now.... oh well.

So yeah f*****g sucks. No thanks for having my posts and s*** visible on the Internet, even Facebook isn’t that invasive…….

Too bad for without this f***ed publically sharing everything by default it’d be a really neat tool. Maybe they’ll fix it but I doubt it. In the mean time I’ve deleted my Google Profile and pissed off Buzz.

I know the irony of my post above re: having my post visible on the Internet yet I post stuff here but, the difference is that here, I have the option to not post anything if I wanted to. Where as in Buzz you can't it's either have a Public profile - which is visible on the internet albeit being difficult to find (unless you have vanity URL) - then have to manually choose "Private" post option. Which you then have to go and configure who you want to be able to view your posts etc....

I just wish they'd made so that all shared Greader items:

1) Are shred to Buzz without having to create Google Profile;
2) Posts don't automatically go into Google (public) Profile;
3) Have people that are following you added to "Private" list automatically;
4) Private post option is the default and not public;

..... /end rant

link ur gmail to your twitter which is linked to your facebook.

You can also link your facebook to youtube, isn't this what microsoft did years ago with their passport login system and that other thing no one liked, what was that called? onepass or something? Funny how no one is complaining about google doing it but everyone kicked up a stink saying how their privacy was at risk when it was someone else proposing it.

I saw a post that one of my mates @'d to one of my other mates whose email I don't have. It looks like he's just got the default options, and I can't see his email address anywhere. It's hidden. About the only common feature I think Buzz is missing so far is privately "Buzzing" someone, but I guess being integrated into Gmail, a feature like that would be totally redundant.

hey i just saw those scrolling results on google you were tlaking about

i searched for 'melbourne' and at the bottom of my screen there was a search entry 'latest result for melbourne' that's constantly updating with new links about that term

going to go do hot titties, see if it'll scroll too.

update: unfortunately you can't use it to like that.. tits, porn, none of the fun stuff work.

i was thinking twitter (or buzz because you can set it to private) would be really handy as a "note to self" sort of site.

note to self: out of milk
note to self: dog needs to be put down
note to self: ... etc

I'm not liking the mobile interface. It's slow and clunky. IT's nice and streamlined using the Maps application, but I don't think that lets you check up on your friends, only what' happening around you.
