Help - Image to video in VirtualDubMod

This must be a really common thing because you see music on YouTube with a static image everywhere. But after extensive searching I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to do it myself.

I have a single image that I want to have in a video with more than an hour of (legal) music. I've imported the image as a frame sequence but I can't figure out how to extend the length of the video to that of the sound.

Any ideas?

Any reason you want to use VirtualDubMod? I imagine Moviemaker or the like would do this. Any simple movie editor.

Just because I am used to it and I like it. I've done this before making Q3 movies but never adjusted the length like this.

video -> frame rate -> change so video and audio durations match

Didn't see that option before Whoop, cheers!

Unfortunately the image isn't showing though :s

works for me, though I only use a single image, and I use virtualdub experimental.

http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/

grab the experimental build.

is there anything in particular you use vdbumod for? I used to use it because I think it can open mpeg files or something, but with input filters plain old virtualdub will open just about anything.

Have to say though, I'm starting to like avidemux a bit more because it offers way more output formats for stuff like phones, youtube, xbox/ps3 or mkv.

edit: I just tried it in vdubmod, worked there too.
This is what I did
get image -> make copy -> name them image 1.jpg & image 2.jpg
open image 1.jpg in vdubmod
streams -> stream list -> add some music
video -> frame rate -> adjust so audio video duration matches
audio direct copy
video uncompressed
export to mkv
open in media player classic

It didn't work with that version of VirtualDub either. I'll play around with it a bit more.

What resolution do you use for it Whoop? I'm using DivX's 1080HD profile.

There is no image at 720P either, using gif, png and jpg.

see my edit, I don't compress it, it's just a static image so there's no need. I just set video to uncompressed rgb

I don't have divx installed, nor do I ever intend to so unfortunately I can't test that part of it.

I also can't upload the fruits of my labour because I don't have any royalty free music, nor am I any good at making my own.

are you using the divx profile for any particular reason? is this so it's compatible with a hardware player? or are you just going to upload this to youtube?

Yeah I know, it doesn't matter for this though. The file is mostly the audio.
