+1 for krowbar's first map
i did that recently in a convertible and it was AWESOME |
Port of Brisbane is fun to drive out to at night, Clayfield lookout, Mt Gravatt, Cleveland Pt, Manly Harbour.

Thanks for the advice guys, seems like mountain ranges are the go.

I hate wankers that put s*** on the road up cootha so they can drift more easily, I drove up there one night not all that fast then all of a sudden on one corner I was facing the drop off and my car was going sideways. Looked like some shutkhunt had put diesel on the road or spilled oil or something. Wanna drift? F*** off to a skid pan.
Also voted Mt Nebo/Glorious, but take it easy if you've not been there before. S*** yeah, first time I drove up there at night the speed limit is what, 80? F*** that noise I was alone & not holding anyone up, I wasn't game to go over 40 last edited by iWhoop at 18:44:21 17/May/10 |
people dont really put stuff on the road do they?
that sounds totally ridiculous |
++ for krowbar's maps, I was going to suggest the same
Otherwise pick a different kind of place along the coastline you wouldn't normally go, like wynnum |
the speed cameras are annoyed at everyone

people dont really put stuff on the road do they? Well another car lost it in the same spot but ended up facing the opposite direction (at the cliff wall, I ended up facing the sheer drop off) so I assume there was something on the road whether it was put there intentionally or not I can't say for sure. |
+1 for krowbar's first map +2, glorious is always good fun It's an OK view but generally it's just f***tards in silvias blasting out horrible RnB trying oh so very hard to be gansta. ahaha good thing I didn't have a silvia eh, this was down the bottom of glorious many years ago |
When really bored I do this trip (usually at night) your stock just went up in my book kr0wb4r the Mt Glorious run had me reassessing my driving and riding ability has anyone done it and *not* seen a rider who's dropped his bike on himself? |
Between toowong and st lucia. I've heard there are other parts but really they're probably just myth and legend. :P

Bit out of Brisbane, but Mt Tambourine's a good drive. Bonus points if you keep on going down the other side, then up O'Reilly's (tho that gets crazy narrow at points and isn't so great if you don't like heights)
View Larger Map Even further is the Nerang-Murwillumbah Rd, which goes past Hinze Dam and Natural Bridge on down across the border to Murwillumbah. |
has anyone done it and *not* seen a rider who's dropped his bike on himself? Coming down the back side of Mt. Glorious one night (~2am) I came across two guys who flagged me down with a torch. Pulled up and saw a heavily modded AE86 on it's roof resting up against a guard rail right next to a massive drop off. The only reason the roof stopped collapsing was because it hit the top of the drivers headrest. I enquired if they needed help, they were fine, already had a mate coming with a tow-truck to pick them up before any cops came along (they hoped), so I hung around for a little bit while my brakes cooled then headed off just that bit slower knowing how easily that s*** happens (apparently he wasn't going that fast around, he just went a bit wide, hit the wall and flipped it. What really suprised me about that run was that my passenger was a girl who had never really ridden with me before. At first I was a bit tentative to see her reaction but by the end of the run she hadn't said a single word nor seemed the least bit worried. |
Decided to do the glorious route, even though i've been around it a hundred times on a bike ;). Only locked twice under braking!
Still better on a bike i gotta admit haha. last edited by Crakaveli at 02:31:43 18/May/10 |
Yeah cerb i've done the tamborine drive to Natural Bridge a few times, that's epic there but was a bit further than i wanted to go tonight. Next time i think i'll head that way.

Mt Gravatt Outlook is a cool driveHaha really? I used to live not far off the bottom of the mountain and that was the s***test lookout ever. It was like druggos going up there and "looking out" for cops more than anything. |
Mt Gravatt look out is closed at night now :(
Mt Cootha Classic Hill Climb is on this weekend I believe! |
Mt Gravatt look out is closed at night now :( i blame that mental guy who murdered his girl friend |
Split yard run at pace for sure .. uber fun
