Yeah maybe so, very unforgiving track. One mistake and theres a whole lot of concrete to greet you. He did drive a flawless race in Spain but alot more fast flowing corners.
Doubt he'll be considering retiring / Redbull retiring him after recent performances. In the post quali interviews Vettel looked to have lemon flavoured taste in his mouth. He's never been beaten by a team mate, let alone an old one before. Race starts 9:00pm Sunday night, One HD. |
He's in form atm for sure. Back to back wins and dominance over Vettel will be huge for his confidence and championship challenge if he can stay out to trouble tomorrow.
|
Not too sure where he came from though. I'm sure they were showing the sector times and he was .2 seconds behind kubica every time. Good stuff.
|
I don't think he will win unfortunately..
Hope he does but.... I reckon his car will f*** up :[ p.s. f*** vettel |
Webber's car has been fine so far this year - its been Vetel who has had the issues.
It was a case of the stupid local director not showing webber... his sector times were good, but they were just showing Kubica at the end of Q3. I was expecting Vetel to come back and smash everyone after his disapointment in Spain, but obviously he isn't on top of the car at the moment. Massa was doing well, but as Scooby and I were discussing during practice last night, I think Webber is a better driver than Massa and he is certainly in an overall better car this season. Webber to win, unless Vetel goes nuts and takes it from him. Kubica to come 5th, he hasn't got the race pace. |
If webber wins this race, he's in championship running I reckon.
|
did you see that sour faced nazi f****tain Vettel in the post qualifying conference interviews FFS look like his whole family had just died. |
I love how Vettel can never congratulate Mark.
Awesome when he nailed it! Did't even get to see it because of how focused they were on Kubica's lap who himself was flying too but to see Mark come from nowhere rocked! Qualifying is so exciting, they should give them points for it! :O Mark's pole lap. Alonso's crash in qualifying. last edited by Python at 11:43:17 16/May/10 |
Goddam thats a tight track, if webber makes it through the first corner still in pole and drives clean, how the f*** is anyone meant to pass him.
Prediction is webber to do a repeat pole to finish in first. |
Is this race going to be in HD widescreen ?
If its gonna be 4:3 Ill be giving it a miss. |
he's gonna get smoked on the first corner by massa, massa will go on and win, webber will be 2nd the entire race but will crash on the last corner. Alonso will come into 2nd and it will be ferrari 1-2. |
Is this race going to be in HD widescreen ? I think all the F1 is HD widescreen now on One HD? |
did you see that sour faced nazi f****tain Vettel in the post qualifying conference interviews FFS look like his whole family had just died. Lol yeah, bitter much. Should be a good race but i doubt webber will win it. My guess is he loses it very early in the race. Can't wait! |
I dunno, last time i saw it it was 4:3
|
News.com.au have a story ( you never know it might be factual LOLOLOL ) in the motorsports section saying mark Webber has been linked with a Ferrari Drive WTF ????? i thought Red Bull would be keen to keep him, maybe i can see vettel f*****g off to mercedes arrows to be a german hero (piss off Michael chewbacca and or Britany Rosberg).
|
Why would Red Bull dump Webber now? More precisely, why would Webber dump Red Bull? Agree. Webber has a good drive at the moment. Far superior to his Williams days. Car is reliable and he is in form. No one would be going anywhere. |
awesome awesome lap by web.
dont know where he pulled that extra pace from ! kubica had been flying in all practice sessions, and mark seemed to be off the pace ! definitely sucks that its now 2 WEEKS IN A ROW that we'v been watching the wrong car when mark has gone pole. cheers for the vid pyth! incredible commitment, and the critical last sector fastest of anyone despite a small error into the 2nd last turn ! |
The thing that gets me is that even though those laps are quick, you can distinctly see where he made mistakes and lost time. I was thinking the same thing myself, but thought it was probably just me thinking he mucked up a corner a bit and lost corner speed, seeing as Im not an F1 driver, but I guess im not the only one that saw it. Ive been playing alot of open wheelers in Grid lately, on driver cam too, so I reckon I know what im talking about now. |
Grid = real life clearly.
Those 4 or so corners after the tunnel exit were insane, blink and bam, wall. Agreed though that there is fractions of a section to make up. You should check out the top gear ep where hamster drives the renault. Said his mind just couldn't physically compute the actions required. By the time he got to the corner and think turn, he missed it. Funky stuff. |
safety first lap lolz
the circuit looks beautiful. nice picture on ONE-HD |
holy shizzal what a lap, Webber on fire.
I could hardly tell what was happening after the tunnel hah great work. |
So the plot thickens Massa has said , If hes going to leave ferrari he wants a seat in the red bull car Kubicza is still going to ferrari where does that leave Webber ?? The Renault team ??
|
Oh yes. F*****g awesome drive. Flawless. Get that up ya Vettel ya miserable git!
|
where does that leave Webber ?? If he keeps going like this it leaves webber wherever he wants. If he wins the championship and wants to stay at red bull, they would be insane to drop him. |
This kind of makes up for aussies losing the cricket.
|
l2spell pavegay! The only thing people should be giving webber kudos for is being a f*****g fast qualifier (which makes sense considering he is a glorified test driver). It is such a god damn shame with how F1 has become now that even a scrub on pole can just comfortably drive untouched with clean air in front of them. I'm defs not dark about ferrari, in fact im quite happy with alonso coming 7th (or whatever he got after losing a position to msc in the last f*****g second), he did start from pit lane after all. Why would Red Bull dump Webber now? More precisely, why would Webber dump Red Bull? Red Bull would dump Webber because he is a s*** driver in a good car. Webber is also an old c*** (he has 5 years on Massa). Your precision is correct, Webber would never dump Red Bull. last edited by casa at 10:13:39 17/May/10 |
Webber's an epic driver he's just a s*** racer. As long as he doesn't have anyone in front of him there's no problemo.
|
Gotta admit he's getting better tho. No way in hell in previous years he'd have avoided that pile-up in front of him in the last few laps. 4-5 years ago he'd have launched himself over the 2 of em.
|
Schumacher got penalised for that move, so Alonso finished 6th.
|
lol poor schumi
Yeah webber can't be beat when he has no one in front of him! The guy is f*****g quick. It is such a god damn shame with how F1 has become now that even a scrub on pole can just comfortably drive untouched with clean air in front of them. Let's face it the only 'racing' we saw last night was Alonso kicking through the chaff at the start of the race. It would be bloody great to see casa's face if webber went to Ferrari lol. |
Red Bull would dump Webber because he is a s*** driver in a good car. So vettel must be realy s*** if he has the same car and cant keep up. Once Webber was 10 seconds ahead, vettel would have had the same clean are but still couldnt do the same pace. |
It is such a god damn shame with how F1 has become now that even a scrub on pole can just comfortably drive untouched with clean air in front of them. Not sure what race you were watching, but I'd say it was the opposite. Back markers are a f*****g rolling hazard, assuming they haven't crashed into each other already. And Webber was pulling away from his teammate in an identical car at a rate of like 0.4 - 0.5s a lap. That's a clear win if ever there was one, unlike Belgium last year where that heap of s*** Fezza was holding up the Force India (!) in second. And don't cry for Alonso, the FIA stewards are on his side. |
casa doesn't know sport. He also thinks the Italian soccer team aren't cheats.
|
Don't worry, Casa, Webber won't take one of your precious Ferrari drivers' spots away.
He has no reason to downgrade. |
Schumi is screwed... Damon Hill is on the stewards board, lol.
|
haha! i liked schumis opportunism ! surprised alonso wasnt watching his mirrors very closely for any suss behaviour !
loved what martin said about digrassi making enemies with alonso... putting up a hectic fight in such a POS car. so good to watch alonso apply the blowtorch and digrassi just making mistakes at nearly every corner s***ting himself ! |
It was hilarious when I think Alonso was waving his hand at the slow car in front, driving one handed at probably around 200k's an hour.
|
Awesome work by the Webmiester i watched the whole race last night was worth the effort ,suddenly F1 isnt boring anymore... now hes one step closer to the championship i hope .. |
hard to believe aussies havent been more competitive in F1
we rock at driving (going on personal experience) |
haha nf!
so intense hearing that audio from hamilton during his cras** shows that theyre human and he definitely shat himself. http://www.formula1.com/video/race_edits.html - all worth watching, spain is the one where you'll see what we're talking about. |
I have nothing against Webber but i think that Red Bull got the car right this year more than Webber got his game right. I mean hes been around for years, yes he's had a s*** choice of cars, but he hasn't really come close now has he, Vettel is doing just as good so it begs the question, is it the car or the driver? imo its a mixture of the two but the car is a much more important aspect and i just think Red Bull did a great job this year. But again well done Webber XD
|
Well beating his teammate by 4 tenths in qualifying is quite alot when you consider what the spread of even the top 10 cars usually is.
If one team is 1 or 2 tenths quicker than both drivers of another team it's fair to say there's a better package there... but beating your own teammate with 'the same car' by 4 tenths - that's just plain better driving. |
