Shouldn't Ormeau have more rocks? Ormeau is alright but I find it a little too rocky at times which makes you take more care.(or destroy parts)

Landsbrough has some good dirt tracks through the forests which range from quite tame to bats*** crazy.

Would you be interested in the scenery or the challenge?

Condamine Gorge (not entirely sure but I think this is out near Killarney / Spring Creek area)

Sundown National Park (access via Ballandean near Stanthorpe, you'd need to overnight it, too far for a days drive)

Connondale National Park (near Imbil & Kennilworth)

Tamborine Mountain (make sure your 4bie is up to the task as some of the tracks are epic)

Mt Mee State Forest

I think there's also a 4WD park in the Gold Coast Hinterland somewhere, the name escapes me though.

this is just a copy and paste from what my mate said on another site..

I'm keen for a 4wd day. The last time one was organised my mates were going on the same day. But we went down to ormeau and not to glasshouse.

yeah vbcoder, glasshouse is good for that. Choose a random track and then see where it goes. Then there is more serious 4wding under the telegraph lines, big red, etc. But there is always little trails that to a hill or mud pits

I have a Ford Escape which I really don't use for any serious 4wding. I fish so I'm generally staying near water and use it for the beach, camping and to tow my boat. I don't really do much else with it except urban driving, so I find it a good mix.

yeah mine spends 90% of its life on the tarmac and it drives like a regular car, it doesn't have any problems off road and i've never been interested in going rock climbing or anything

I've followed lifted GQ/GU patrols through some pretty treacherous tracks and whilst I admit on a few of them I only just made it, I still made it through

for my intended use, which is mostly camping/beach/off the beaten track a bit -its beautiful

*cough*

At last the ultimate 4" kit for your 2005 - 2009 Toyota Hilux. A bolt in kit that retains all factory driveline and steering angles. Kit comes complete with all fitting hardware and instructions and will allow the fitment of 33" tyres.

The kit retains factory geometry of CV's via the relocation of the front diff, correction of steering component angles is also performed giving correct movement through the turning arc of the front wheels.

Maintaining correct upper and lower control arm angles with bump stop clearance maintains wheel travel and suspension ride.

so temping, I think im just going to do 50mm & 32s~ though
not being able to get into the carpark at my property would suck a fat one

I'd be keen for another QGL 4x4 day. My jeep is currently at the mechanics though and it doesn't look like i'll have it back for 3+ weeks :/

I'd go spotty for someone though.

Oh and for those that knew about it, the little play area behind Compton Road has been fenced off and shut down with "You WILL be fined" signs all over the place :(

Glass House mountains is always good, can take easier routes as well if some people were so inclined. Ormeau (depending on which way you go of course) tends to lead to more... interisting tracks, sometimes with little opertunity to turn back.

When we go up to double island we usually go cross at tewantin and then head up all the inland 4wd tracks then back down via the beach.

yeah we did that inland track recently and headed south along the rainbow beach road for a bit, took another track back through which ended up taking like 4 hours because of a rodeo that got bogged and had to believe retrieved by the all mighty HIRUX

and my mate even managed to get his motorbike stuck, that was pretty lols

I'm keen for it. Still haven't had the Commander lifted but it did alright at Mt Mee. You want to wait Scooter or you going to ride shotgun with Jim?
I'm happy to wait a few weeks, maybe until the kids soccer is finished so my weekends free up. I think they have 4 more weeks.

I'd probably just hop in with nF/Jim.
If your waiting till after your kids Soccer I might even have mine back.

Dont let Mt Mee fool you though, it's an introduction area for a reason ;)

I don't mind when we do it. I'm free most Saturday's and Sunday's. The 22nd of august I'm unavailable and the 29th of August I have a party at 5pm. Any other day is fine though. How does the 5th of September sound? Scooter should have his car back by then........
