what the hell? no one has posted how it would go further if converted to LPG yet. |
mr hardware hasn't seen this then has he...

yes, yes i have. I saw it when the only post was the original.
I have nothing to add, other than hybrids will be a small speck on the automotive radar for a while. There are no comments to be made. There are only two hybrids worth having at the moment, the Lexus GS450h and the LS600hl, and both are decidedly unaffordable. Basically, if you can afford a hybrid vehicle, you can afford to not really worry about the price of petrol, or the amount you consume. For people who are really concerned about real motoring and keeping the costs down, LPG. |
For people who are really concerned about real motoring and keeping the costs down, LPG. lol what the f*** does this even mean? |
a prius, insight whatever isnt a car worth owning. if they weren't hybrids, no-one would buy them. If we're talking about cars that people actually own and are wanting to fuel at the lowest possible cost, LPG is the answer.

jesus christ, how did I know you would be in here blabbing on about LPG?
|
a prius, insight whatever isnt a car worth owning. if they weren't hybrids, no-one would buy them.I disagree, because there's countless other similar vehicles on the road in the exact same class as a prius which aren't hybrid If we're talking about cars that people actually own and are wanting to fuel at the lowest possible cost, LPG is the answer.answer to what? it's not the answer for me, or clearly for the vast majority of people in the world |
because there's countless other similar vehicles on the road in the exact same class as a prius which aren't hybrid If you actually compared these cars properly you'd probably find you could fit like 3 times more stuff into and get more mileage from a regular car. |
haha good one thermite, let me guess you're passionate about airsoft too?
lpg certainly isn't the answer for me either |
i keep looking at my own driving patterns i.e. i only drive the second car to and from work and its less than 20klm each way
thats an ideal scenario for an electric car I too have reservations about the hybrid cars, (particular for the possibility of an outbreak of smug :P), but more so in that they really dont seem to be particularly functional alternatives and as has already been said, LPG is probably a better and cheaper alternative at this time |
how are they not functional?
one of the guys in our office here has one (civic hybrid) and it's completely functional. you get in it and drive, just like any other small car. it's not even an ugly shape like the prius, it looks just like any other honda civic which are a normal, regular looking car. it uses less fuel than a non-hybrid civic because it's petrol motor is smaller due to it also having an electric motor which sits between the petrol engine and the transmission allowing it to also act as a generator when the car is rolling downhills etc. the petrol engine turns off at lights and starts instantly with no noticeable delay when you press the accelerator. |
a prius, insight whatever isnt a car worth owning. if they weren't hybrids, no-one would buy them.Even if the first sentence was true, which it isn't, the second sentence explains why people are buying them anyway! My uncle/aunt in the US have a prius and while I agree with jim that they're ugly as balls, it was a pretty nice car to drive and be in. Nice and spacious and, well, got you from A to B pretty easily. I think their average was between 40-50mpg though (this is including a lot of highway driving as well), and it had definitely made a dent in their weekly gas bills (basically where they live you HAVE to drive miles to get anywhere at all). |
silly how they only show it driving slow in that one
|
perhaps the only thing LPG is good for is fueling posts on QGL forum, oh that and spooks BBQs (when he remembers to buy the gas)
