Just saw the news, sadly Travis Barker from Blink-182 has pulled out of all Australian concerts due to his irrational fear of flying. Apparently he tried to sort out travel by boat but nothing was able to suit the schedule. Such a shame really, going to see these guys on Friday and not to have Travis there (which is one of my favourite drummers) will feel weird.
Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion, Tenacious D) has stepped in according to the article on ever-so-loved news.com. |
Geez, does nobody remember The A-Team?
|
Well it is kind of irrational. The odds of being in a plane crash are really low so the odds of being in two must be ridiculous.
That's not to say it isn't completely understandable though. If I was in a plane crash as serious as his I doubt I'd even be able to look at a plane anymore. |
Well it is kind of irrational. The odds of being in a plane crash are really low so the odds of being in two must be ridiculous. Sure, but that probability is only lower before the first plane crash. The odds of a particular person being in two plane crashes in the future is significantly lower than the odds of them being in one plane crash in the future, but once they've survived one crash it's not like it means any future flights they take are less likely to crash. Also: thread typo. |
Arent certain phobias treated by slowly exposing the person to that very phobia? Unfortunate incident of course but not flying for the rest of your life?

Arent certain phobias treated by slowly exposing the person to that very phobia? Unfortunate incident of course but not flying for the rest of your life? He has had countless efforts with trying to combat the fear, just seems like it wasn't going to happen this time round sadly. I'm still eager to go on Friday, no doubt about it, just would have been nice to see Travis smashing those drums. |
If only his plane was on a treadmill, then it never would have even taken off, let alone crashed.
|
Hey guys, if there was a giant fan behind a plane that was pushing air at the same speed the plane was recording as moving forward and the plane was on a treadmil which was also moving backwards the same speed the plane thought it was moving forwards would it be able to take off?
The answer is the plane would maybe move because of the thrust of the wind and the thrust of the engines, but the (or lack of) wind under the wings wouldn't create that lift effect so it could be driven to the location assuming there's a path there but not flown... i think, i never did physics but basic laws apply right? |
Hey guys, if there was a giant fan behind a plane that was pushing air at the same speed the plane was recording as moving forward and the plane was on a treadmil which was also moving backwards the same speed the plane thought it was moving forwards would it be able to take off? Short answer: yes, with an if. Long answer: no, with a but. |
I was really only interested in seeing Blink because of Travis.
I wonder who'll they get to drum in his place? |
I hear Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion, Tenacious D) will step in

Ho hoh Spook!
I was really only interested in seeing Blink because of Travis. Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion, Tenacious D) is stepping in apparently, so I guess its somewhat okay. |
While I completely understand his reasoning behind pulling out, he said himself he'd come to Australia for the soundwave tour even if it meant him being knocked out for the flight.... That's just what annoyed me slightly.
|
So I hear Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion, Tenacious D) is stepping in
|
Have read on a facebook page that heaps of people are posting heaps of harsh comments on travis's and blink 182 twitter pages.
|
If I had to guess I reckon Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion, Tenacious D) would replace Travis.
|
Hey guys! Does anyone know who they'll get to drum now that Travis Barker has pulled out due to his fear of flying caused by his previous experience surviving a plane crash?
Need to know ASAP thx |
I've read it was the guy from Bad religion and Tenacious D.
|
Exclusive! The Wookie is Pacman. You heard it here first.
