That is according to analysts based on a recent Take-Two Interactive financial dealy where the parent company for 2K and Rockstar noted that "we believe there is at least one Rockstar IP set to be released by FY24". Something that would delight shareholders to no end, something like Grand Theft Auto VI. Which is currently in development.
Even though Take Two didn't call out GTA 6 by name - talk of increased revenue kind of narrows it down. FY24 runs from April 1, 2023, through March 31, 2024 - which potentially puts the Grand Theft Auto VI release either late 2023 or early 2024.
As for the game itself not much is known. Rumours last year from multiple credible sources hinted that the next mainline GTA will take place in a modern-day Vice City.
And that even though there are plans to make it the largest GTA play-space to date, the release cycle could see a smaller-sized locale launch first with expansions and DLC coming at a steady clip. The same rumours noted that development has been slow so far, and that an initial release could be as far out as 2025. Which makes the 2023/2024 timeline somewhat of a "best case" scenario.
