Dragon Age 4 Has Lost its Senior Creative Director

Last December we got a teaser for the upcoming Dragon Age 4 currently in development at BioWare. A short but very cool glimpse at what could end up being the look and feel of the next game in the long-running series. Behind the scenes though, it was a rocky road even getting to that point -- with news today confirming that Senior Creative Director and studio veteran, Matt Goldman, has let the project.

According to an email obtained by Kotaku which was sent internally confirming Matt Goldman was leaving BioWare, it clearly states that it will impact the game's development. It also adds "rest assured our commitment to a high-quality Dragon Age game has not waivered, and we will not ship a game that is not up to BioWare’s standards".

The email was from BioWare's new General Manager Gary McKay who's an EA veteran that only took the role of studio head back in June. With several in-depth reports over the year painting a very troubling picture of BioWare (including this one on Dragon Age 4) another high-profile departure doesn't bode well for the state of Dragon Age's development.

The game, which was originally announced back in 2017, has been in development in one form or another for close to four years now.
