And the two are connected thanks to Aussie superstar Scott "Custa" Kennedy making both rosters. After making into the global top eight last year, Australia will once again be looking to compete at the Overwatch World Cup finals at BlizzCon later this year. The new look team only includes one returning player, with the rest made up of new and familiar faces.
Team Australia is set to make its debut at the Group Stage competition being held in Bangkok, with the following line-up.
The Group Stage kicks off September 14-16 where Team Australia will face off against China, Denmark, Thailand, Spain and Sweden. Where the top two countries from will advance to the Overwatch World Cup Finals at BlizzCon.
Our chances of making it through again are pretty good, no thanks due to the inclusion of Overwatch League All-Star Game pick Scott “Custa” Kennedy, who has been picked for the Pacific Division team.
Additional players will be selected via coaches, players, and other staff and be announced in the coming weeks. The Overwatch League All-Star Game will take place at Blizzard Arena Los Angeles on August 27.
