On Friday we reported that classic gaming score keepers Twin Galaxies had removed Donkey Kong record holder Billy Mitchell's high scores after he was caught cheating. On an old VHS tape submission that was also one of the more dramatic moments in the excellent videogame documentary The King of Kong. And now, comes the official statement from the man.
And if you're in anyway familiar with Billy Mitchell then it should come as no surprise that he admits to nothing, spins the story using vague terms, and is generally, well, Billy Mitchell.
"I've been asked to address things that are recently in the media. The fact of the matter is, now there's a true professional due diligence being done to investigate things that happened as far as 35 years ago. We'll be sure to share any and all info presented by the Mitchell camp.
