Total War: ARENA Update 3.1 Out Today, Includes New Battlefield
Sydney, New South Wales
A new update for Total War: ARENA has dropped today and features, among new fixes and improvements, a new battlefield named "Oasis". And no, it's not endorsed by Liam Gallagher.
Here's the official spin:
Oasis This is one of the most visually striking battlefields you’ll take up arms in. Inspired by the Battle of Cirta, its undulating dunes, dominating rocky arch, and a small village surrounding the titular oasis provide wealth of tactical opportunities.
Oasis appears deceptively open, but the rocks, buildings and dunes can all hide enemies. Barbarians will thrive in the thick grass near the oasis; however, any unit will have trouble retreating if they get caught close to the water. To play it safe, you can always head through the rocky valley or throw caution to the wind and dart across the central arch to secure victory.
Other improvements Friendly fire has received several tweaks. Missile units will cause less friendly fire damage in early tiers, and feature increased accuracy across all tiers. Spear phalanx and deployables cause no friendly fire damage. Lastly, artillery now fires a single projectile to reduce its friendly fire damage potential.
There are 7 new powerful strike abilities to get to grips with. Finally, there are some UI improvements. Players can now utilize a new camera option to get a more elevated view of the battlefield. In addition, new unit hotkeys were added to make switching between units quicker.
