When it comes to backwards compatibility and preserving a history of classic titles on modern hardware no doubt Microsoft is leading the charge. Thanks to its implementation on the Xbox One, several classic Xbox 360 and original Xbox titles are fully playable. And in most cases sporting improvements like an increased resolution. Which means, 4K The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind on the Xbox One X is now a reality.

And will be included in a batch of original Xbox titles becoming backwards compatible on April 17.

  • Blinx: The Time Sweeper
  • Breakdown
  • Conker: Live & Reloaded
  • The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
  • Hunter: The Reckoning
  • Jade Empire
  • Panzer Dragoon Orta
  • SSX 3

With more coming on April 26.

  • Destroy All Humans!
  • Full Spectrum Warrior
  • Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction
  • MX Unleashed
  • Panzer Elite Action: Fields of Glory
  • Star Wars Battlefront
  • Star Wars Battlefront II
  • Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
  • Star Wars Jedi Starfighter
  • Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
  • Star Wars Republic Commando

That's a lot of Star Wars. Good Star Wars too, with Knights of the Old Republic II being an all-time great RPG.

All titles will be playable for those that own the original discs, in addition to becoming available to purchase digitally via the Microsoft Store. All Original Xbox games take advantage of the additional hardware power of Xbox One with up to 4X the pixel count on Xbox One and up to 16X the pixel count on Xbox One X.
