Today comes word that a new body, the Esports Games Association Australia (EGAA) has been formed to "work with players, teams, managers, organisers and sponsors" to "improve the structures and standards for the whole industry and help advance the Australian esports scene". Very cool.
Here's a few more details.
Among its initial services the EGAA will provide members with access to an industry conference, facilitate communication, networking, professional development and education, provide an avenue for engagement in esports for members with government and business, assistance in league and organisation structure and more.
As the great MC Hammer once noted, this is definitely legit. 2 legit. 2 legit 2 quit even. Ahem. Yeah this is great news as 2017 saw esports grow in Australia with a large number of different games, leagues, and tournaments taking place throughout the year.
