Hey Ausgamers,

Looking to get a personal computer made up. Found some good cards and stuff but having difficulty picking a case for it. For it, I would prefer to have: a handle at the top for carrying, light weight, portable (can replace stoppers with wheels?), easy access to USB ports at front (on a slope), good ventilation and I'm not looking for anything to rakish but some glowing lights will be cool. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I'd wait a year for a new computer, otherwise you're wasting money. Check out umart.com.au for cases, read the reviews. Li-lian cases always decent however expensive. Glowing lights is something you can do with $5 from jaycar. Companies releasing cooling fans with LED now also, so that's something you can look at.

Otherwise you can check out http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/ or http://www.guru3d.com/ and check out the computers people use and what they find reasonable.

Or you could buy a laptop from catchoftheday.com.au

Since you know what hardware you want. I'd suggest looking at the mini-itx form factor. It's small and lightweight in comparison to ATX systems. A bitfenix prodigy case has handles so to say, but it it's loaded to the brim with gear you won't want to try and use them.

You can get high end motherboards in Mini-ITX, all the way to a 4770K + Titan/780 if you wanted. The RAM speed world record is held on a Mini ITX board. Single card only.

Thanks for the informative as well as funny responses. That BitFenix one looks like one I might go for. And for the milk crate, already tried that and it doesn't fit in the space in my desk :(
