Apple Announcements from WWDC2013 Keynote

Easy to miss with E3 being on the same day, WWDC2013 kicked off in SF today, with Apple taking centre stage for the opening keynote:

Here's the pick list for new stuff:

The next version of iOS, featuring a brand new (*cough*) UI - iOS 7
http://www.apple.com/ios/ios7/

The next version of Mac OS, OS X Mavericks - enhancements to Finder, Calendar, CPU/Memory usage, multi screen setups, and the addition of a few iOS apps. Oh, and removal of pretty much anything Scott Forstall loved before he was ousted from the company.

A long time between drinks, Apple remembered that they make computers, too! This is a return to oddball form factors, with the new Mac Pro resembling a console more than a beefy (read: cheaper-to-make-yourself) desktop computer.

Some hardware bumps for the MacBook Air (Haswell)

Part of iOS7, and inevitably the world, this is iTunes early foray into the Pandora/Spotify market.

You can watch the whole intra-company love-in, featuring remote controlled cars, failed attempts at standing ovations, investor gee-ups, and a better keynote speaker that should do all future Apple keynotes, right here:

Given that it is assembled in the USA, I expect this PC to be staggeringly expensive.

Well, its IvyBridge-E / Xeon, 2X Ent GPU's and PCI-E SSD... Including Apple Tax, without the inevitable 4K monitor, I'd guess $3500+ maybe $4k+

I'd expect a bigger announcment and full features/details of a monthly subscription, listen on demand service, at their traditional Sept/Oct press event (when they normally announce new portable devices).

Download QuickTime to view this video.

Also lol at failed attempts at standing ovations, I can totally imagine that without downloading QuickTime!

I was just thinking that too. Looking at the screenshots it looked quite like a lot of Android apps :) In fact mail looks a whole lot like Any.DO.

Will Google get s***** at Apple over the ios7? It looks a lot like android.

IMO, the apple phones have fallen behind in terms of design. You've got SGS3/4 and HTC pumping out these fantastic looking and feeling phones, while nothing much has changed about the iphone for yonks, except now it's taller.

Until today?

anyone updating just remember shift click 'check for updates' and not 'restore' and select the ipsw - this comment may save some headaches lol

Hey cool, the iPhone finally got skins/themes!
I remember when Stardock/WindowBlinds started doing that. In 1996.

Seriously, when are Apple going to start introducing important features we actually care about? You know, like being able to copy music to my own phone without telling me I need to format it first because it's paired with another PC I reformatted so can't unlink from?

I recently thought to myself when I want to get serious about powerful computers I will get a Mac Pro with 16 cores. Now after seeing this thread I just want to get a fleshlight.
