So anyone with optus would of recently got a letter that they would be upping the cost of their plans by about $5 or so and lowing the quota down. I was originally getting 150 gig (75 peak / 75 off peak) for $69. Now they have made it $75 for 120 gig. They also gave people a chance to cancel their contract because of the changes they made. I called them up to see about canceling and they sweetened the deal a little to make it worth while staying. One of the new changes going from 150 gig with the peak and off peak is that now there is only a peak time, so you get 120 gig total peak. They also upgraded the speed to the new DOCSIS 3.0 for free.
I just got the new Cisco modem in the mail and set it all up and now I'm just waiting for the month to clock over to see what the new speed is like. But from what some mates from work are telling me they are getting around 9mb/s as apposed to the 2.5 mb/s they use to get. Is anyone using DOCSIS 3.0 with Optus or Tel$tra and is it worth paying for the extra speed ??? |
Yeah pretty sure it is 100MBit
