Antec Nine Hundred Tower Gaming Case with side window Black(No PSU) $109.00 $9.91 $109.00
Antec ATX TruePower 750W $137.00 $12.45 $137.00
Samsung 22X DVDRW Black SATA $19.00 $1.73 $19.00
Intel Core i5 2500K Processor LGA1155 3.3GHz CPU $224.00 $20.36 $224.00
Benq GL2450HM 24"W LED G-BLACK/DVI/HDMI/SPK $195.00 $17.73 $195.00
Sapphire ATI HD7950 OC 3GB GDDR5 2MDP/HDMI $489.00 $44.45 $489.00
Western Digital 1TB SATA3 HDD 32M Caviar Blue $108.00 $9.82 $108.00
G Skill 8G(2x4G) DDR3 1600Mhz PC12800(GS-F3-1600C9D-8GAO) $54.50 $4.95 $54.50
Asrock Z77 PRO4 Z77/4 x DDR3/1 x PCI-E3.0/4 x SATA3/4 x USB3.0/HDMI/D- $136.00 $12.36 $136.00
Total $133.77 $1471.50

Thats with a 24" monitor and the OC version of the 7950.

In summary, I would suggest to a savy person, yours is worth somewhere between $800 and $1000.

also my system included ram and HDD & DVD.. if your not selling it with those, chop another ~$150 out of your sale price. So $750-850 maybe.

Err maybe since LGA1366 uses over 300 out of 1366 pins for RAM access, having bent pins that aren't making a proper connection will causes glitches on slots that use a particular pin?

Yes the key here is that for the same price you can build a new box with easily twice the performance, and with full warranty.

how the f*** do you bend the pins on a modern CPU socket? I thought they were just little spring loaded balls or something anyway, not like an old CPU that actually had pins

LGA1366 has pin-like structures on the mobo side. Random link from the interwebs:

Sell it to some noobs who dunno s***e about computers you might be able to pull $1k but then they wouldn't be the type of people to buy a computer without RAM and HDD.

IMO sell parts on ebay

You're not going to get much from people here for old gen gear.

Questions that need answering:
How long ago did you purchase this?
How much warranty is left? Like the 5970 was released at tail end of 2009 if I remember correctly, which wouldn't leave much warranty left, if any at all.

You might have a better chance of putting a 500GB HDD in it and pawning it off on trading post or something. Otherwise split the parts, you'd make more.
Hell Hermi offered $200 for the video card already.

What's with the lack of back covers?

Not trolling, just wasn't sure what s*** is worth these days I haven't been keeping up in the game because I haven't needed ot upgrade.. I thought the 5970 would be still worth a bit cause its a dual gpu but yeah.

The case still has all the panels they just were not in the pic because i was cleaning it. so would I get any interest on here for the lot @ $940?

i have had someone offer more than 200 for the card hermi so if you want it throw me your best price. After doing a bit of research ive found the oc'd 5970's still go for around 500-600 new, but because il be overseas soon and i cbf paying for the postage of this thing I thought I would unload it cheap but for a reasonable price.

If anyone is interested in parts let me know asap and if anyone is really interested in the whole lot il leave it up for a week if no one gets it then il part it out.

Only real problem is that it's a dead socket so you can't exactly upgrade from this machine. It's fine now, but you can only ever replace the video card and ram. The cpu won't ever change so..

Which is why I'm guessing you're knocking it out because you can't really do much else with it.

Correct. Mine's almost out of warranty.

Sorry Rdizz, I actually think I'm being generous.
It's not worth anymore than that, specially being almost 3 years old.

Nice fish you hooked for anything more than that :)

I tend to get 2 per socket, buy a good motherboard, oveclock the s*** out of my cpu and then when it's getting old buy another CPU to try and skip a socket.

I skipped 1366 hopefully get 2 with 1155 too.

As much as teh 5970 is a 'dual processor' unit, I can't imagine it's worth much more than $200 (if even).

It's second hand (there's no guarantee or warranties on it's reliability) it's now 2 generations old (ok, it still performs well, but yea, old tech is old) and the newer gen cards are supercheap (as the tech market has slowed a lot in recent years).

The bottom line (IF I were in a buying market) the whole PC is second hand, and if you've ever OC'd it, who know's what sort of operating condition it's in.

The amount you're asking is an indication of how quickly you want to sell it. If you're looking to recoup your costs, I doubt this is the place to sell it.
(If you're looking to offset the costs of your new rig however... get what you 'can' for it, and move on)
