I've been checking out the turtle beach models a friend has recommended me but thought I'd ask the unwritten book of knowledge that is QGL. GOGOGO

Also it's basically just for BF3 if tt is at all relevant.

Best place for headphones. You may want to consider a desktop mic or clipon

Headphones.com.au +1

Also if you want the best in sound - look at beyerdynamic. The sound that comes out of my DT234pro is amazing!!! They dont look like much, however I have never found headphones/headset under $150 that sounds so amazing!

Wireless headphones are great, would never go back to wired now.

If it's just PC gaming Logitech G930 should do the trick ($119 from their online store).

Personally I'm using Sennheiser RS170 with a Logitech Desktop Mic ... but that combo is a bit more expensive.

I've been considering some wireless headphones but they'd have to work on pc/bravia/ps3.

I used to have Sennheisers, f*****g awesome.

I'm probably going to go back to wired, sick of having the sound mute half way through a game without warning.

And I've had a set for longer than year and they've been fine.

I've got a pair of Ttesports by Thermaltake, quite nice and sound is amazing for gaming, not so much for music. Though I might get the Logitech G930 wireless set, looks sleek and the G keys would help while in-game.

I probably should have clarified it, but it's the batteries aspect of wireless headphones that is pissing me off.

If it's $99 at EB I'm sure you can get it cheaper elsewhere.

I probably should have clarified it, but it's the batteries aspect of wireless headphones that is pissing me off.

I've never had my headphones die out. I think the RS170s last 23 hours, other wireless ones I had were 11 hours, and I think the Logitech last 9 hours.

Easy to charge them in my down time (if you're spending 9 hours using them, you might want to force yourself to take a break!).

Plantronics Gamecom 777 Surround Sound Gaming Headset USB [25] Instock $68.00

Umart.

edit: PS i have a pair, they're really good mic quality and sound quality is fine for games and most movies.

Reviewers say though that the sound is a little unbalanced in bass/mid/trebble for pure audiophiles but for sub 70 dollar headphones that's a given.

Definetly DO NOT recommend these. I have a set and they hurt my head after about 20 minutes of use. Perhaps they are okay for small headed people, but I don't even find the directional sound to be that fantastic personally.

If I was going to get a set it'd be another set of steelseries or maybe those logitech cordless ones.

Thanks for the range of replies. I've read a few times that the Turtle Beach set break easily with average use. Not a good start.

The Steelseries set look great. Like the retractable mic feature. The Logitech G930 set also look pretty f*****g rad but starting to get a bit more than I planned on spending.

I wear the plantronics ones for about 5+ hours now some days. Actually not even some days, most days. If i'm playing videogames or watching TV I'm wearing them.

My z5500 speakers control unit died. F*****g hunk of logitech crap.

Have you got a small head skythra? Cause I'd say I have a large head compared to normal standards and these things cain me. I have owned them for ages now and they still haven't slackened off. I'm probably 5pm-midnight/1am style of use but I have to keep removing them at least a couple of times an hour to give my ears a rest.
