And the reason Robocop gets top billing in that headline is because... Robocop. Add to that Peter Weller is offering voice options and that Mortal Kombat has now just become a conduit to all of the best things about our childhoods (Predator, Terminator, Freddy, Jason...) alongside its own cheesy story and, well, you've got yourself a nostalgic stew.
But yeah, there is a new story tangent with the Aftermath update, so here's PlayStation Blog to fill you in:
The new chapters in time-twisting narrative of Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath allowed us to give Nightwolf, Fujin, and Sheeva their most sizable roles in any Mortal Kombat game to date. We get to learn more about what drives them, from Fujin’s devotion to Earthrealm’s mortals to Sheeva’s undying loyalty to her empress, Sindel. The story also allows us to see these incredible fighters in action. Our cinematics team has dreamed up a whole host of pulse-pounding action sequences which utilize each character’s signature abilities.Which is cool, but let's be honest, this is all about the inclusion of Robocop and Peter Weller. Check out the trailer embedded below. Aftermath will be available from May 26.
And now this...
