We're all hotly anticipating the re-release of WarCraft III
by way of WarCraft III: Reforged
-- an HD update of the original RTS that helped Blizzard
to explode as a developer-publisher. Overnight the beta for the game's multiplayer kicked off, with select invites being sent out to those who pre-ordered the game's "Spoils of War" edition.
Other invites will be sent out to people who also simply pre-purchased the regular version of the release, but for now, invites are being staggered across those who went with the bigger version of the game.
Initial invitations will go out in waves to players who have pre-purchased the Spoils of War edition of the game, and subsequent waves of invitations will go to additional players, such as those who have pre-purchased the standard edition of Warcraft III: Reforged.
The Spoils of War Edition
In addition to access to the beta, owners of the Spoils of War edition get a few additional perk.
Beyond the Meat Wagon mount in World of Warcraft; Thrall, Anub’arak, Jaina and Tyrande in Heroes of the Storm; and the Third War card back in Hearthstone, the Spoils of War edition also contains:
