Far Cry 5 will be the first Far Cry game since the Stone Age-based Far Cry Primal, which was released in February 2016. The most recent âproperâ entry in the franchise was 2014âs Far Cry 4. Reports have suggested that the game will be set in the American West, and specifically, in Montana. Earlier this month, the Great Falls (Montana) Tribune reported that a company with offices in Paris sent a crew to a church near Poplar, Montana, to film footage that will be used to promote an unnamed video game. The game is scheduled to be released in September, the report said.

An american west style Far Cry game at first sounded silly to me but I think it may grow on me. I google'imaged what Montana looks like and it looks pretty lush and green, I thought it may be set in a desert/arid setting like RDR. It would be cool to have tall tree forests and grasslands to roam around on, hunting deer/bear/raccoon/possums for stupid equipment you get to craft. There would be a variety of black powder revolvers and rifles to use, as well as early cartridge (paper and metal) weapons too. Depending on when the set the game. I imagine 1850-1875. I just hope the story isn't s***.
So what you do guys think of this? Are you ready to steal horses and ware a coon skin cap?
I imagine 1850-1875.
according to rumours it's a contemporary setting.
Aww really? Wild west farcry sounds amazing tbh.
Wild West would actually make me consider buying another Far Cry game, modern day not so much.
I agree, Wild West Far Cry sounds awesome.
That would seem kinda odd. Montana is not some kind of unstable region with dudes we can shoot at. Unless........it's got crazy American Militia in it. That would be interesting.
Yeah, old west would be better but fighting against some hillbilly cult is OK too I guess. Still probably going to have to take out bases and skin deer to make an ammo bag like the past 3 games.
Don't forget radio towers
looks like the rumours are confirmed.
That is a pretty interesting route to take.
