biplanes rank up faster than you'd think - though most peeps don't know that they can easily destroy AAA ground targets
taking pot shots at tanks with your 7mm also rewards money and XP... it adds up don't be too surprised if you take out much higher tiered planes playing 'chicken' mid-air. Usually they're already damaged from previous engagements and looking to do what damage they can with whatever is left in them. Mow 'em down ;) |

just got this, loving it, how many hours of farming do i have to do in the biplanes before i can get to some WW2 lovin? It's actually not too bad, you start getting into good planes around rank 3+, though "good" is relative. Pretty much all of my 10+ kill games were in those bi-planes ;) Also, I disagree about taking shots at the tanks with such small calibre guns. AAA / Arty / Armoured vehicles are all yours. The others, you're just wasting altitude, time and ammo on for a small hit bonus. Personally, I'd stick to turn fighting like the bi-planes are made for. You can get some ridiculous amounts of exp (I got halfway through rank 1 in a single game with russian planes). |

The others, you're just wasting altitude, time and ammo on for a small hit bonus. Yeah, there's no way I'd be getting to close to arty in historical mode in a biplane since the 1.29 patch. Those things deliver Instakills now :( still, it you keep your ALT under 100m they can't angle down enough to shoot you I've amped up my crew reload to speed and 'Aced' the planes when ever possible now so it's a ~10 second wait to reload guns/bombs.. now all I have to worry about is the Tier 5+ planes that somehow make it into Tier 1-2 matches. btw - do you blokes play on Eur/Russian servers or just stick to US? At night I'm finding the packet loss on US servers to be bloody terrible, though not everyone in the clan is :/ Seems to be a Bigpond thing (no surprises there I guess) Look us up when you're next on if you're keen to squad up. We're usually traveling around in groups most nights.TOG_koopz Actually, I usually just play on "any available" but I wish there was the option to un-tick russian servers from that because I've found it's full of obnoxious players and it drops packets constantly, sometimes even failing to connect. Last night I was in a rank 11 Mustang and on the arse of a beaufighter when some twat in a hurricane dove in and I accidentally took his wing off in a single shot before I could react (The rank 11 Mustang has 4x 20mm cannons). The a****** comes back in a goddamn BOOMERANG and shoots me down. Not only did I lose some retardedly large amount for FF kill, I lost another retardedly large amount to repairs on that bastard. Only ended up getting 1200 lions from a 25 minute game where I got about 12 kills. So yeah, f*** the russian servers. Too many games like that. But the US servers have been fine for me, it's just they tend to not have many games going during the hours I play or something. Last night, there were only 60 some US games running. I think that's why you sometimes see higher tier planes in lower tier games. The matchmaking might get a little more lax during times of long queue's. |

No way you got 1200 lions from 12 kills unless they were all kill steals with one bullet.
I average about 6:1 or 6:0 game with the occasional 12 to 15 kill game and I average about 30,000 lions per round on the 6 kill games! If you mean 1200 profit, then you're blowing too much on repairs. Survive first, kills second. You make more that way as you learn to pick your targets and battles better. |

I am having fun with my ME 410 knocking enemy out of the sky with a single shot from my 50mm cannon, its extremely gratifying :-)
