Is anyone participating in the Kokoda challenge this year? If you are I'd love to know how you are preparing for it.

Some mates asked me to join to which I said yes and now that i have looked up what it actually involves, I am absolutely s***ting myself as I have never participated in an endurance event let alone a 96km one.

mate of mine has done it a few times.

last time he did it with 5 girls, just made them go do long walks for a couple of months leading up to the challenge.

hes always finished it, so his training method must work.

Hot tip: don't have a cold quarter pounder and a run and coke at a rest stop at 2am. You won't finish.

A guy at work did it last year too. I'm pretty sure he didn't make it to the end (he's pretty fit too) as the mud took it's toll. He got massive blisters etc.
