Developer Futuremark has released the latest iteration of their popular 3D Mark benchmarking software, dropping the annualised subtitles, and words like "Vantage" from its name to launch the easier to follow 3D Mark v1.0.0.
3D Mark v1.0.0 features three new benchmark tests to push various rendering features to their DirectX 11 limits, and for the first time, you can obtain the software on Steam. Downloading the "demo" version on Steam is the same as 3D Mark's usual Basic Edition, which limits some of the custom settings you can configure in the US$24.95 paid version.
Another big new feature this time around, is the promise of benchmarking on Android, iOS, and Windows RT as coming soon, supposedly with scoring systems that will allow comparison of performance with the Windows PC version.
If you prefer a standalone installer over Steam delivery, AusGamers still has a download mirror for that one right here in our files library, which weighs in at close to 1GB. Check out a preview of the benchmark demos in the video below, and grab it now to get benching.
For AMD the official 13.1 WHQL drivers are not approved as of yet, however the 13.2 beta 3 and 4 drivers are
I'll be keeping a copy of this on hand for tablets for sure...
I'd love to see this running on an Andriod phone, though I'm unsure why you'd bother on a IOS except for diagnostic purposes.. maybe there are tweaks for the iPhone and Ipads that boost video performance??
either way - good to see Futuremark back again
