CRICKETING legend Tony Greig has died following a suspected heart attack.
pretty big loss for the cricket community
him and richie benaud are the 2 voices i remember most growing up watching cricket
just came here to post this as well.
Sad day for cricket, he'll be missed in the comm box....
There will be some form of tribute at the Sydney test no doubt, I'd say Channel 9 will put together a highlights package of his career
Hooksey will be hitting him for boundries in cricketer heaven right now.
Gee Greggy gone.
yeah grew up listening to Grieg, Benaud and Lawry.
Apparently when they are in other Cities Grieg always drives the rental car and picks Chappelli and Lawry up to drive them to the ground from the Hotels.
Must have been fun to listen to those 3 going on.
Well, 9 needs to get a new Pommy.
David Lloyd is pretty good.
I guess this means Marc Dikoless is going to be the only Pommy and we are going to have to endure endless rants from him.
Never a great Cricketer but a very good Captain.
Was one of the first truly professional County players.
I guess they will retire his Key ?
Poor bugger, cancer then heart attack. RIP
I hope the use the key to find the best cemetery plot for him.
I thought Richie would be the first of the old team to go.
My favourite from the 'old crew'
Crushed. Who's going to do those pitch reports now?
Does anyone know where Tony put the bloody key?
Player's comfort and the machine with the swirly thing on the top. What a fantastic innovation.
"Slipped on a bowl of nutrigain"
He was South African.
He was South African.
He was whoever was 'sticking it' to the ORZEES ;)
and now Mr Cricket RETIRES!!@#!
Sad day for cricket indeed!
F*** could have waited one more year to play two more ashes series

Hussey refused to reveal who he had chosen as his replacement as the team song leader. "I have made up my mind and I haven’t told him officially yet, I want to keep it to myself until I have spoken to him," he said.
So who do we all think? Will have to be someone fairly secure in their position i would think.
Good on ya Hussey, hes going out on top.
Hussey was a Matchwinner on many occasions.
No more Dads Army players.
Well all the old guys are gone now.
Cant wait for the Ashes Tests IN HD WOOO HOOO
(It was Benaud not Lawry that Grieg would drive to the game)
Oh crap. I really will miss Tony Greig calling the games.
And wow to Hussey calling it quits. I also would have liked him in the ashes side.
Looks like Hussey learned well from watching Pontings demise.
Cowan or Siddle are my tips
A fast bowler without a doubt (gets passed on as they get rested every 3rd game)
the hayday of cricket slowly going out
oh great a box full of aussie commentators.
only just saw this, devestated. tony vs bill in the commentary box was always awesome. tony was a great commentator and great for the game.
very very sad.
9 News last night devoted the first 10 mins to Grieg.
Thats quite an honour.
Did anyone watch the 6:30 tribute ?
Was it any good ?
I watched it via the nine msn website, the tribute was great.
I don't think the heyday of Cricket is going away. The days of utter Aussie domination are over but this new team is developing well.
RIP Greig, this time last year I would have out 20 bucks on him vs Benaud.
The Channel 9 Tribute is on YouTube Part 1:
also reminded me why we got rid of horroritz
