Korean publisher Nexon, known for its successful free-to-play efforts such as Combat Arms, Vindictus, and Maple Story, has announced an agreement licensing them to develop a game based on the iconic Ghost in the Shell franchise, specifically Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG.
The game will be based on the award winning Series Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX, Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C 2nd GIG and Ghost in the Shell: Solid State Society Series, which are adapted from Masamune Shirow's famous mangas, and expand the universe which won several notable entry awards on the 2003 Tokyo International Anime Fair.No further details on the game were provided, so we don't know whether it will be more RPG like most Nexon's library or more shooter like Namco's forgettable Ghost in the Shell PS2 game, but given Nexon's history, we can be almost certainly expect it to be primarily a free-to-play PC game.
Can't wait, good or bad - I'm gonna enjoy it immensly.
It's Nexon. It will be gloriously bad. Train wreck bad. Gotta have it bad
I will be all over this, I love GITS. I even bought that PS2 game and the PSP game too. There really needs to be another GITS SAC series or perhaps a movie.
Oh god this is gonna be bad :(
you idiots know nothing about Nexon...
Good or bad I'll be playing the hell out of this... As a huge GitS, and Cyberpunk fan in general I've waited so long for a proper cyberpunk mmo.
