ssx: deadly descents has also been announced. best snowboarding games ever. ssx tricky was my fav on the ps2.
also uncharted 3 release date is 1st november 2011. |
Some f*****g awesome games coming out. Though, I can't get excited about Elder Scrolls. I only ever played Oblivion, and found it to be a reasonably massive pile of s***.
Super keen for Batman and Drake though. |
2011 is shaping up to be an awesome year for gamers.

I just found out about Skyrim!!!! F*** yeah! I've been waiting years for this!
I thought Ausgamers would have been all over this news? |
Heh ME3 looked pretty damn good, Batman too. Elder Scrolls lost me at Oblivion and the movie doesn't inspire much aside from a hope that they'll return to a more Morrowind'ish feeling game.
|
I'll be happy if that f*** that god awful engine they've been using off but i doubt it will happen. Oblivion sucked so i can't get excited for this one.. yet..

With Skyrim, I want a sandbox type game like oblivion or Fallout, not another highly scripted, very linear game in the like Mass Effect or Dragon Age.
While I loved Mass Effect and Dragon Age, sometimes I just want a game world I can really make my own, rather then just ride the story. Yes I know you can pick which missions or quests to do in Bioware's games, but once you are in they all flow the same way each time you play. I'm also hoping Bethesda makes Skyrim open and highly modifiable, and releases the construction kit day 1. |
I just hope it gets a bit more serious (gritty?), feels like I'm actually progressing (no bandits upgrading to godhood weaponry) and travelling through the world (no click the map teleporting). Less repetitive NPCs and a better deeper story also wouldn't go astray. edit: Also come to think of it a consistent world, so towns built around mines/farms/shipping/religion/office of the foreign administrator/etc - the world of oblivion seemed to be there for the sake of having typical things, without any sense to them.

So what non-sequels are coming out next year?
|

Agreed, the first thing I want to know about Elder Scrolls 5 is what engine it's running on. Given that oblivion was released in 2006 chances are good that Skyrim will be on new tech. |
Holy s***! First time I've seen that Batman Trailer. It's gonna be AWESOME!
EDIT : AHHHHHHHHH can't stop watching that Batman trailer D: |
Agreed, the first thing I want to know about Elder Scrolls 5 is what engine it's running on. id tech 5? With megatextures? |
TES 5 has been confirmed to be using a new engine, but no other details afaik http://www.pcgamer.com/2010/12/12/confirmed-the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-will-use-an-entirely-new-engine/
