I've just finished playing the DLC, which actually was pretty good towards the end too.
I plan on playing a new character again over xmas in time for DAO:2. |

So its basically Dragon Age done like Mass Effect? Thats probably a good direction to go in, after playing Mass Effect 2 I can't go back to Dragon Age, it feels so clunky and archaic in comparison.

What in the trailer gave you that impression? I didn't see any Gameplay at all. I could never finish Dragon Age. In fact, I think I only got like 3 or 4 hours in. It, as you say, felt way too clunky to hold my attention. |

What in the trailer gave you that impression? I didn't see any Gameplay at all. Not so much the gameplay, I guess more the fact that its about an actual character now, not a nameless, faceless player avatar, and it had that big epic "Hes our last best hope and the only one that can save us" vibe that Mass Effect has. And the epic music seemed to remind me of Mass Effect too :P Engine looks like its the MA2 engine as well, looks far too good to be the old Dragon Age engine, so I guess I was just assuming (hoping?) with that will come some of the other trimmings of Mass Effect. |

I imagine that would be too much of a departure from what most people liked about Dragon Age. Mass Effect has a very different play style.
Not that I'd complain, I'd love them to just dress up Mass Effect like Dragon Age. |

think they said gameplay will be a mix of mass effect and dragon age, story progression will be like mass effect.

It's the same as Mass Effect, can choose gender and appearance but must play as human. Fully voiced main character too.

Looks good. Never found the time to finish the first one, i had to games and got halfway through in each but always uni or something would take my time then i forgot what i happened so never went back.

It's worth finishing imo, pretty good ending(s), and the awakening expansion was great too. The dwarf and to a lesser extent elf parts were a bit of a slog, but it's worth it.

MA2 was awesome and made DA look and play like assJust fyi they are two different games. Sometimes i think i'm the only one who preferred Dragons age to mass effect (1 & 2). |

Bit off topic here, but why are people calling it MA2? It's Mass Effect, not Mass Affect.
back on topic, as long as it's more accessible and more fun then boring, I'm all for it. DA:O was great, but did have some boring turn offs at some points. But everything else was top notch, and I hope the same for this title. |

I totally enjoyed DA over Mass effect, to me DA was an RPG and Mass Affect was an adventure game with some RPG elements.
It makes me sad to hear that DA2 is more like MA. Old Skool type D&D like roleplaying games are rare enough already. |
