Ok so Tomb Raider updated automatically for me today and now the mouse is all over the place. Inverted is not inverted, not inverted is inverted and when you zoom in to aim the weapons IT ALL REVERSES. What the hell? Anyone else experience this?
edit: Ok heads up, for anyone else who finds themselves totally f***ed, they've added the option to invert walking and aiming separately. |
Maybe you should go play Sim City until they fix Tomb Raider.

Who uses a mouse where moving it up on the mouse mat means down in game/OS? Think of it this way ... if your head/neck is locked and you can only move your body, what happens when you move forward? You start looking down. And if you move back ... you start looking up. Not inverting your mouse you're pretending the mouse pad is the vision on the screen, but we're not! And the reason it's different for general use is the mouse cursor moving around is not a full on vision shift and therefore completely separate, I don't relate the two at all. Hope you can now finally understand why people like their flying mouse setting inverted! |
In 'general use' you're defining where to look, position of the mouse maps exactly to direction your face/camera is pointing; but when you're flying the mouse maps to the yoke (pulling back means plane goes up) and the plane moves as much or as little as it is physically able.

I would have defined 'general use' as moving a pointer around a screen, like in windows. I use inverted mouse in games, I guess its like imagining you have a handful of the person's hand, pull it back and their head goes up, pull it forward and their head goes down

my controls are fine. also the game looks a lot better after the patch. apparently the ultra settings weren't working correctly unless you had it in window mode.

this is how I think of it. If you sit your ass in one spot and lean back, you start to look up, if you lean forwards you look down. Now extend your arm out and rest it on the desk, keep it stiff and hinge only at your shoulder. Now, move forward (and look down) see what your hand does? That's right f*****s, it move AWAY from your seated position. Now lean back, where does the mouse go? Oh yeah, towards you. Sure, you might not like inverted mouse but is it really THAT hard to grasp why some people like it better?
