| Description: |
-A story-driven, uniquely Steampunk-Fantasy world!
Magic meets metal in this world, powered by coal, steam, and technology, with a backdrop of magic and myth. Steampunk is a setting with its roots in 19th century England, in the industrial and Victorian era, all adapted for modern times and used as its own fairly new genre of games, movies, and especially... outfits. Britt's overwhelming artistic talent really shines in Skyborn. The gold gilding, the giant, superfluous gears, the flamboyant costume design... Skyborn proves itself quite visually appealing as it takes you into a fantastical journey, from gritty, industrial cityscapes, to beautiful ancient ruins, and even into a realm of pure magic. The professionally-produced orchestral soundtrack doesn't hurt either. -Addictive, lovable characters! The well-developed and expressive cast is the core of Skyborn's story-driven game play experience. Check out a couple of the screen shots below... all main cast dialogue uses full-sized character graphics, and EXPRESSIONS to fit the mood! You really have to play it to see what the expressions add to the atmosphere. -More player-friendly dungeons, and you can retry battles if you lose! Every nook and cranny of the world has its own purpose. You will not be scared of dungeon-crawling, as each path you take will lead either to the next goal, or yield treasure, or any number of rewards. In addition, no more automatic game if you find yourself defeated. You are prompted for a retry if you lose! We're taking the frustration out of the classic RPG. -Exploration nodes reward the wanderer! Exploration nodes you say? These are, as Britt calls them "sparklies" that you can pick up anywhere in the world that grant a big dose of experience points. There's enough exploration nodes in the game to provide enough experience points so that you don't need to do even a TINY BIT of "grnding" to level up. Combat prowess depends more on equipment and skill choices, and difficulty is only intense for players choosing to play in "hard" difficulty. Just feel like advancing the story? Set it on "easy", I understand! It's a GREAT story! -No random encounters! All the enemies can be clearly seen! Battles are initiated when running into them on the map. -Crafting and Equipment Augmenting! You can mine ores and craft them into gear of your choosing, and then craft even further with "augments", which are items that customize your gear in just about any way possible! Gather some iron in your travels, bring it to a forge and whip up a nice new rivet gun for yourself, and then use a ruby to augment its attack power. There are a TON of combinations and it can be addicting trying them out. -A full 10 hours of play, with plenty of reasons to replay! Skyborn is an epic, self-contained adventure. With different character classes to choose from, equipment to craft, and optional content to explore, it also brings its share of replayability. |
