Service Pack v05.15.06 brings the game code to the same level as our
latest game, Wings Over Europe. After upgrading with this Service Pack, the game will require the latest version of DirectX (9.0c April 2006) to run correctly. Please visit the Microsoft website at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/ to download and install the latest version of DirectX. This Service Pack can be applied to any previous version of Strike Fighters Project 1. However, due to some re-organization of the data, we highly recommend you install this over a clean install of the game - uninstall the game first, manually delete the folder to remove any mods not uninstalled, reinstall the game from original CD, then apply the Service Pack. Some previous mods may not be fully compatible after upgrading with Service Pack. If you find any mods not working, please check with mod-makers to provide you with updated version of their mods. List of changes in this Service Pack include: * Environmental graphics have been improved, with 3d clouds added. * Support for laser-guided bombs and electro-optically guided weapons have been added. * Support for more modern HUD (Heads Up Display) has been added. * Easy Avionics radar has a new and improved look. * Support for display with different aspect ratio, such as widescreen monitors (both 16:9 and 16:10 aspect ratio) and 5:4 aspect ratio common with LCD monitors, has been added. * You can now connect directly using TCP/IP from in-game Network Connection Screen. To connect using TCP/IP, select Multiplayer from the Main Screen, type in the TCP/IP address (in 123.456.789.123 format) in the Address box, then select "Internet TCP/IP" on the Connection Type drop-down menu. * AI air-to-air gunnery has been improved. * AI can now read aircraft-specific AI data from each aircraft_data.ini. * Ground object data have been re-organized, and you no longer need to edit the master GroundObjectList.ini to add or remove ground objects. * All F-4 data files were edited to show pylon adapters, changing the station numbers on outer wings pylons. * F-4J and A-4F (which were available as separate downloadable dd-ons) are now fully included in the game. * And many other minor tweaks, fixes, and improvements have been made. ==================================== Strike Fighters: Project 1 v07.05.05 Readme File ==================================== List of changes implemented since v05.13.05 (Patch 3.1). * REFLY button for client is now disabled in Co-op multiplayer debriefing screen until the host selects REFLY. * Co-op multiplayer clients sometimes receiving "Mission Failed" message immediately upon starting flight has been fixed. * Ground Object AI not firing when following waypoints has been fixed. * Game sometimes crashing when exiting has been fixed. * Shadow, which was accidentally left disabled in previous patch, is re-enabled. * AoA Indexer Lights now work based on airspeed when playing on EASY flight model. * EASY flight model has been adjusted so it is easier to land on the carrier. * Campaign units' scheduled re-base and texture changes work more consistently now. * Campaign pilot statistics sometimes being saved to a wrong pilot has been fixed. * Campaign save filename reverting to default filename when using the ACCEPT button instead of Enter key has been fixed. * Toggling the cockpit OFF in multiplayer mode will no longer render the aircraft invisible to other players. * All the flight model data has been further refined. * The graphics engine can handle Windows ALT-TAB message better. ==================================== Strike Fighters: Project 1 v05.13.05 Readme File ==================================== List of changes implemented since v11.05.04 (Service Pack 3). * Radar will now default to OFF in Normal/Hard mode and when starting on the ground, and must be turned ON manually. * In-flight nav map now shows location of the runways. * Text problems in German/French/Spanish versions on Pilot Records screen has been fixed. * F-4C cockpit backup attitude indicator is now working correctly. * F-4C loadout problem with the centerline station has been fixed. * Radar screens may now display grid overlays. * Ground Mapping Mode radar display has been adjusted so ground objects are more visible. * A-4s' radar display have been changed to B-sweep type. * Amount of time required to obtain air-to-air radar lock while playing with Radar Display options set to Hard has been reduced. * Propeller engine torque being applied in the wrong direction has been fixed. * Player can now only be assigned escort missions in campaign if there are enemy fighters intercepting the bombers. * A bug in campaign attrition code that was causing other AI aircraft squadrons to slowly disappear during campaign has been fixed. * Short campaigns can now end much sooner than before. * Multi-player co-op clients can now see AI planes correctly. * The effect of ground clutter against SAM radar has been increased, and you can break radar lock easier by flying at low altitude. * Delete button has been added on Campaign Screen to delete previously saved campaign files. |
