AusGamers put together a video showing off the huge differences between the censored Australian version of the game that Australians are forced to absorb because of the lack of an R18+ rating. The video shows a side-by-side comparison of the two versions of the game - censored and uncensored - and clearly demonstrates the striking differences between the two.

I think it takes quite a bit away from the game when you remove that art, obviously alot of it is whoever made the game didnt care, they just pulled it all, but yeah quite a big difference.

Someone has already got a fix for it but its hard to find players because they need to have it to be able to play with you.

presumably by recording the full version with the demo command, then turning the gore off in the replay? and a bit of fancy editing.

Guys can someone give me the rundown on the different methods aviliable to get the uncensored version? I havent brought it yet because of all this BS...

I assume the 'vpn method' would ensue using a temp vpn provider to give you vpn access to the U-S and therefore allow you to download it as you were from the US but then allow you to play Ausies after you disconnect? However thsi would count towards your usage wouldnt it?

the gore isn't stored in the demo, just enough information to be able to replay the demo. so depending on which version you use to play back the demo, you get gore or no gore

No. You only need to make the purchase on a VPN. Once it is in your account log off the vpn.

To get the gory version, buy L4D2 via store.steampowered.com/?cc=uk - or connect to a UK VPN (trial account) and just grab it as you normally would (no URL tinkering): http://www.gamers-underground.com/forum/games-general/31856-steam-modern-warfare-2-%2462-aud.html

If you bought the game uncut, then you will get the uncut it will not change to the cut version on release. This has been specifically confirmed by steam support in a reply to someones support request.

Definitely true... sort of.

The daylight was a bit bollocks and the level design was terrible, bar the 1 "rolling crescendo" (as Valve call it) where you have to reach the tower.

The full game will be much better.

I just played the demo for the first time.

Absolutely boring. Without gore it's ridiculous, just a spray of blood when you shoot - the guns just feel like they're going "pew pew" without any impact. On top of that bodies disappearing? Haha.

Definitely not buying the Australian version at least. Leaning on not buying an international version either.

just clocked 1.6hrs of uncensored carnage and i fucking love it. when i was mowing through wave after wave with my chainsaw i briefly lolled at how much this would suck without the fountains of blood covering my screen.
