AusGamers TGS 2008 Fable 2 - Peter Molyneux Walkthrough Interview Added: Sat Oct 11 3:01pm 2008
Lionhead Studios Founder, Fable series creator and video gaming icon Peter Molyneux gives AusGamers a hands-on, guided tour of an early portion of Fable 2 a the 2008 Tokyo Games Show.
This was a really great interview to sit through, I was stoked with what we ended up with (my camera work, so that's why the lighting's not the best =) ).
Steve let Peter know that he had already previewed the game a bunch of times, so Peter suggested that Steve just go hands on while he describes the goings on.
The bit that impressed me most, was when Peter enabled the debug free flying mode (something which obviously won't be in the final product), zoomed around the game world and everything was rendered seamlessly with the NPCs on the other side of the level revealed to still be performing all their little individually community functions.
Going into this I honestly wasn't too fussed about the game but now I'm really looking forward to it.
That was a pretty cool video, I wasn't particularly interested in the game either, but now I might give it a bash. Also, peter molyneux didn't come accross anywhere near as crazy as I thought he was :P
I still don't quite get why the dog is so important though.
I think the dog is not just there as an AI aid, but also as a reminder of just how important maintaining relationships throughout the game and game-world is. Above all else, the one thing I've gleamed from my countless run-ins with this game is that your relationships throughout are incredibly important - they make you a bigger part of the game; elevating the overall immersion.
awesome video really showed some interesting things, like how you can get people drunk and then conning them into giving you their worldly possessions.
