The SMH
takes a shot at people who buy
"... sophisticated computers, the coolest digital cameras, the most versatile cell phones and hand-held organisers.." and then fail to read the included manual.
The article is used as an excuse to rehash a lot of those 'stupid user' stories from emails we've all read several times, but it does state that it frustrates manufacturers and costs them money, which they pass on to us.
When I buy a new device I dive straight in to the manual on the way home from the store, or while waiting for the damn thing to charge. Not talking about computer related stuff here, more phones/portable music/cameras/gadgets in general. But what are you like? Do you hit the manual before doing anything with your new toy or computer game, or just dive straight in? I'll assume most of us don't read PC hardware related manuals, but maybe I shouldn't :)
