With
Square Enix announcing that the Oceanian Data Center for
Final Fantasy XIV is set to go live on Tuesday, January 25 2022. Based on the current popularity of the game five new Worlds are set to go live with the Home World Transfer Service set to be re-enabled a day after the new servers go online.
This is great news for local players as it will not only keep latency low but provide a more localised community. Since the launch of the highly anticipated expansion
Endwalker expansion last year, Final Fantasy XIV
has experienced several congestion issues -- so much so that new sales for the game were temporarily suspended.
With the addition of Oceanic servers plus expansion to the game's Japanese, North American, and European Data Centers digital sales will recommence on January 25, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. (JST). Which lines up perfectly with the new servers.
"We believe this server expansion is a significant step forward in providing players the best gaming experience possible in FFXIV," writes Naoki Yoshida,
Final Fantasy XIV Producer & Director. "Work on bolstering the servers will continue well into 2023, expending a vast amount of financial resources and manpower, but we will do our utmost to ensure this endeavor has no negative impact on your ability to play, so we would appreciate your support while you continue on your adventures."
