We are once again beating the very dead horse, with vice president of Sony Worldwide Studios Europe Michael Denny once again confirming to gamers still attached to the fleeting idea of its existence that The Last Guardian is infact still in-development.

While we saw nothing at this week's Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, those hoping for news at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show will be somewhat disappointed. PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed in an interview with Eurogamer that we won't be seeing the highly sought after title anytime soon, stating that the game, already in development for at least seven years, "needs more time."

“When we are ready,” said Yoshida. “I cannot confirm any timing because we are waiting for it to be in a state where we are happy that this is the game.”

One day. One day we will get The Last Guardian, or at the very least confirmation of its death. Until then, speculate away.

It's kinda disappointing I guess; none moreso disappointed than the producers (Sony from memory) of this game. If it is in as bad a shape as one could surmise; just let it go peacefully.

The image in that thumbnail is at least 5 years old right? seems such a shame that it may never see the light of day as a game.
