Square Enix has officially confirmed Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition will hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 10th.

The remastered update of the 2012 game leaked late last week, and Square has since confirmed this edition will also include 24 pieces of the title's DLC, including the story-extending Year of the Snake and the horror-themed Nightmare in North Point.

"We’re giving old and new fans a lot reasons to pick up the game, as we’ve gone beyond just increasing resolution and running at 1080p," said senior producer Dan Sochan. "We listened to the fans: we tuned gameplay, we added to the ambience of Hong Kong, increased audio fidelity and pushed the visuals further than we could on the previous generation of consoles.”

If we already own the game will be get a free/discounted upgrade to the remastered version? Like we got with the Deus Ex: HR directors cut?

They have said absolutely nothing about that, but going by the past few remasters to come to both console and PC I'd be inclined to say yes.

Yeah had a quick look to see if I could find any information regarding that. I assume it will happen. Just re-installed it too, might wait until I hear more about this remaster.

I can't think of any remastered games that hasn't had a discount. Pinball Arcade on PS3 was cross buy with the Vita, PS4 cost extra for the same tables on the new system but they were discounted by 75%, more for PSPlus members.

Any examples of games that haven't been discounted? Remakes within a couple of years that is, not like Tempest 2000 for the Jaguar.
