Nosgoth, developer Psyonix Studios' free-to-play multiplayer fighter that takes place in the Legacy of Kain universe, goes into open beta testing this American Winter (Summer for us locals), Square Enix has announced.

The team-based human versus vampire multiplayer game is currently operating in a closed beta state, though Square Enix also revealed that this weekend eager onlookers will be able to jump into the game for free. Those wanting to jump into the closed beta can do so through a number of founder packs, though come open beta you'll be free to jump in without any purchase.

The free weekend will begin tomorrow, Thursday 7th August at 9pm AEST, and will end on Monday, 11th August at 5pm AEST. A Steam account will be required. Those who play during the free weekend get double experience point gain as well as an in-game badge.
